The moment where Saad uses Vampiric Tutor after Necro-ing reminds me of a Star Wars deck I built, I abused the hell out of the fact that it's very easy to memorize a 60 card deck and my Objective (which I had no interest in flipping) let me search my deck once per turn. Even if I failed to find (which was normal after a turn or two, when I'd dug out everything I could dig out) I would know what was in my Force Pile, which was INCERDIBLY good in practice, since in Star Wars you draw from your force pile, or you use it to play stuff and can't draw it, knowing what was in there meant I always knew if I wanted to use it as a resources or if I needed to draw it. ...Welp, I'm actually not sure if people shouldn't just run Gutshot now as a solution to Bowmaster, at least it can kill the Orc before a Wheel resolves? It can kill other stuff in a pinch, but hitting a Bowmaster for no mana is pretty sweet.

As a Magda player I’ve often found bloodmoon to be a must counter for one player and then the other one wins. Or it locks 1-2 players out and the last one wins. Either way I much prefer something like damping sphere or even rug of smothering, as they often resolve, but keep most people from comboing off. Leading to that sweet late game inevitability.❤

Mike cast Borne Upon a Wind just before Necropotence, and that's what allowed the instant speed plays.

Underworld Breach lets you play cards from your graveyard by exiling 3 cards from the grave and paying the cards mana cost. Lion's Eye Diamond costs 0 (so you are just exiling three cards to play it over and over). You keep repeating that while playing Brain Freeze after each Lion Eye's Diamond cast (Brain Freeze has storm which makes copies of the card on the stack for every card that has been played on that turn) so you loop it over and over and over until you mill your entire library or down to cards and then Thassa's is in your graveyard so you just make Blue again with LED (although you'll have 1 excess each time only playing Brain Freeze) and Thassa's wins on the stack.

Incredible to see that in a competitive environment, people keep coming back to the most efficient win cons. It's almost as if "playing to win" meant "raising probabilities by only playing the best strategies in the most optimal way".

@@thedoctor1471 it gets boring. Cards get banned for the same reason, to much popular cards and honestly is broken. Turn 1 or 2 win LOOOL Thassa should be banned. Notice everyone plays it,is that healthy? The only thing you can do is FOW 🤷🏻‍♂️ and that applies to other cards that were banned.

@@TheFallenA So, first of all, you can do many things other than FoW on thOracle. I won't take time here to educate you, but you can counter an activated or triggered ability, you can angel grace, you can set their grave back into their library, ... there's lots of options. Second, as I said, thOracle here is not the actual win con. The actual win con was to be able to near-infinitely cast LED/Brainfreeze. Most decks with that combo don't even play thOracle because it's a dead card. Third, I can win T1 in non-blue decks too. The speed of cEDH is not related to thOracle. With the early game of this match, if Cam had been able to put dockside into play T1 he could have won that turn by casting magda; getting cloudstone curio and doing infinite treasures immediately. I can agree that "thOracle hurr durr" seems boring, but usually the way of getting there is what's actually interesting in a match; and you can't deny that Mike's use of born into wind to transform necropotence in a super efficient adnaus was interesting; especially after Dylan tried to prevent his win. Play more. You'll learn the game better and realise thOracle is not that much of an issue and is more used as an easy way to explain a win than a real tool to steal games.
