Jesus Christ, Annunaki and or Human Science !!! For what else could of made such a Great beast. Just think we have Pigman, Bigfoot, Dogman, Goatman, Mothman and many other beasts but from where do they come. I suspect the same places. An maybe that's other planets or even from under our very own feet, who knows till one tells us. I here some bite, so be careful which one you ask. No really they will rip you apart and feed.

Scary. I am curious though, care to expand a little?
@ruairimartin42406 жыл бұрын
Yeah I dont really see how a hexapodal body plan could evolve naturally in vertebrates. One possible reification could be a surviving population of neanderthals the because of their shorter limbs where far less mobile than their human counterparts and developped horse riding far before other human groups, the neanderthals morphological differences could develop into a species and culture that relies on the horse for hunting and warfare, and the thick muscles and bones of the Neanderthal could result in one being very dangerous when drunk. Also i think the whole noble and intellegent savage works well with them, i suppose this isnt a centaur at all and anyways neanderthals are pretty much dwarves any way.
@ruairimartin42406 жыл бұрын
actually im chatting major shite that's not at all a centaur, but maybe some ancient culture could mistake these for centaurs? I dunno.
@TranslatorCarminum5 жыл бұрын
I find it interesting how frequently six-limbed vertebrates seem to appear in the collective human imagination. Griffins, centaurs, dragons, angels, fairies, pegasi. Vertebrate hexapods seem to be a recurring theme in mythology, perhaps especially when you realize that centaurs are the only major example for which two of the six limbs aren't wings.

The closest thing to a centaur-like body design in the natural world is the praying mantis.

Also, if centaurs are real and they are similar to the original myths, I think their culture would be similar to Neanderthals, Homo erectus (Java Man and Peking Man), or early Homo sapiens. They would be hunter-gatherers, and they will be capable of using fire and creating art. Their leader would be a chief, and their society will also include healers/shamans and priests (I imagine that their religion will be animistic).

Interesting and very well thought out. I didn't think of that (the praying mantis) well spotted sir. Also, I appreciate that you're willing to expand on the culture of the creature as I feel that this is an important aspect of the centaur. I really tried to emphasis it in the video, obviously, so seeing someone willing to add to the idea is quite heartening.

@@MoonChickenProductions Thank you for your reply. I also imagine that centaurs would possess arrows and spears with sharp stone or flint tips similar to early humans (think of the Clovis points), and they were omnivores, feeding on fruit (especially grapes, apples, and berries), vegetables, grain, grass, fish, shellfish (especially snails, clams, and crustaceans), honey, nuts, and meat from game animals such as birds, deer, rabbits, wild goats, and wild pigs (and in prehistoric times, ancient centaurs would also hunt mammoths and aurochs). Their art would be cave paintings and rock art that would depict daily life, hunting, gathering, and religious rituals and symbols (in which they honor various nature spirits). Their four hoofed legs might look strange, but they are useful for chasing after prey and running away from potential predators such as big cats, wolves, hyenas, bears, and crocodiles. In addition, hooves may be used for kicking in self-defence should a predator or an enemy cornered them. They would also use different face paints and body decorations for various occasions (hunting, warfare, peace offerings, funerals, birthdays, mating rituals, etc.). And just like ancient humans (as well as some modern tribes), they pass on their stories and instructions to each other orally via storytelling.

Look to Alpha Centauri for the origins of the Centaur.

Why doesn't anyone discuss Proxima Centauri, which is much closer?
@CRASHOLA16 жыл бұрын
Dear you, thank you for your interesting work, but in the case of centaurs you are terribly remiss and show a lack of understanding. I invite you to look up Chiron, who is the gentle herb-lore/warfare/astronomy teacher centaur you conflate with the general brutish centaur tribe. His ancestry is different and you really need to mention him if you want to speak about centaurs.
@MoonChickenProductions6 жыл бұрын
Indeed, very good point. We do mention chiron as a teacher in the video, although not as much as should have been mentioned. The myth portion of the video is mostly focused on addressing the creature as a stereotype. Our recent witch video demonstrates this well. Although we have many depictions of the witch as a benign and even good person in modern fantasy, the archtypal witch is, nevertheless, an evil being.

Kentauros means to spear a bull. It literally means bullfighters.
