The beggar- Paris the musical (lyrics)

Ulysses, disguised as a beggar, breaks into Troy to speak to Helen and ask her advice.
(This calls back to earlier in the musical where he complimented Paris for entering the Greek court in rags.)
Both Helen and Ulysses are exhausted and want an end to the war.
Helen is exasperated by his questions, but defends him from a Trojan guard who threatens him.

Helen’s voice is so ethereal😭 Also pretty sure Helen knew he was one of the Greek kings but was not exactly sure who, bc after 10 years Ulysses obviously looks very different and he’s also disguised as a beggar

@@Pal-605 yea she definitely seems to recognise him. Their dynamic is so lovely because he clearly values her intelligence. He supports her point in Paris court and he seeks her out for advice in this song. They are my two favourite characters in this musical so this song is really fun.

I love the foreshadowing in the paris in court song where odysseys says hell keep in mind dressing as a beggar to break in lol

@Callaben0 Odysseus was clearly a fan of the idea. Not only did he use the beggar disguise in Troy, but he also did it when he got home to Ithaca.
