Matt, you should be wearing a Back Brace Support Belt with all the heavy lifting that you're doing. I injured my back 8 years ago because I was doing a home project and should have been wearing a Back Brace Support Belt myself. Today, after 3 back operations, I'm 95% bed bound and on drugs to manage my pain 24-7. Kristen, see that he wears a Support Belt.

When building your actual home. Build it with concrete, rebar and blocks. Then you stucco the outside and paint with a sealer exterior paint. This will take care of your walls and exterior finish, strong, waterproof, handles harsh weather. Doing it this way is the cheapest, and you can work as fast as u like. Once the roof is on you have all the time in the world to frame, plum, wire, sheetrock and finish the home.

Matt, please use wire cloth that is approximately 1/4 inch square in size spaces. Snakes can easily get in through chicken wire but not the 1/4 inch wire cloth. Ask me how I know. Yes one got into my chicken coop through the chicken wire. The only thing that saved us was the bird netting covering the top. The snake got in the bird netting and got trapped, could not get out. Snakes love chicken eggs, little chicks and bigger chickens if the snake is big enough. They go after them at night when chickens are sleeping.

All you have to do is get some pipe, put a couple of wheels on the ends, lift up one side of the coop, slide one axle with wheels under one end and do the same for the other end and you can push the coop to another location. Boom, you're done! You could even use a car jack to jack up the coop to put the axle under it.

not worried about poppie pants but for god sake instead of struggling to hold that ply in place while kristen clamps it in place ...noooooo. mark the line of ply at each end THEN screw a screw in only half way then you simply lift the ply on top of the screws and there it will sit while you jiggle it to suit, its an old carpenters trick two nails work harder than two men

Hate to keep harping on this but it's worth mentioning again. Please be mindful of your proximity to water and the effects of runoff and ground water contamination. Evidence of this can be seen in your river/stream. It is heavy with turbidity. Having a rock based substrate it should be clearer. There are other options rather than septic. They might not be as convenient or cost effective but well worth it.

You guys should market your coffee beans as "Sailing good bad and ugly" BRAND' . The more you plant and harvest the bigger the profit margin. You have something unique, it is home grown, check out "Moose run coffee" they are growing exponentially. They started in their garage, in two years they are crushing it. PLUS they buy the coffee beans, you guys have your own, this makes it SPECIAL. Great opportunity, start small and grow even if you have to obtain the beans locally, your audience will buy your beans and spread the word.

You can always add some wheels to it. Not sure if you have a Harbor Freight there but they carry nice wheels for that type of stuff to make it more mobile.
@RedwonMactamhais Жыл бұрын
As far as the chicken coop, either buy the screw on axle chucks for popping wheel axles into. If you get wheels on swivels you only need them in 1 direction, if you get wheels that are fixed axle, Add them in both directions on each corner. Then you pick up 1 corner at a time and pop the wheels in. This makes your coup into. A big chicken tractor. If you want to save money you can always just drill holes through the 4x4's & 2x6 then get any cheap wheels you can find used like 4 fat bicycle rims & tires or grab some old dirt bike or motor wheels and tires from a junk yard if you can find them. Then when you want to move the coup lift up a corner and pop the tires in. You could make a sliding system to be able to slide or flip the wheels up and down and lock them in place if you are really ambitious like the dinghy wheel bracket systems. You can Do it Captain Poopy Pants You can Do it All night Long !! "Owe You Just 🪛 ed My 🍑!' Ha😅😂🤣😝 That's what she said!

Over the years (decades), every time the wife and I attempted to become somewhat self-sufficient, such as growing our own vegetables, chicken farm, fruit trees, etc, after the dust settled and we totaled up the expenses (not to mention all the labor involved), we found for just 2 people on a small plot of land, it was easier and less expensive to just buy eggs and food when we need it. Hopefully when your dust settles things end out working out better for you. Looking forward to seeing your house design and construction get started.
