Thanks Dr. Osborne, this information should be taught in schools. The health of the worlds population would seriously benefit from the videos you put out. Health classes should be mandatory with these types of videos! The cost of poor health is too great to not implement in schools starting in elementary and continuing throughout. A BIG SHOUTOUT from Canada!

Dr. Osborne, I take about 1/4 teaspoon of Borax (Sodium Borate) once a week or so (along with a teaspoon of Epsom Salts MgSO4). I realize this is a tricky subject. I have also pulled the chem stats, the LD50 is better than table salt. Any thoughts or recommendations? I've not noticed any signs of discomfort, and I've been doing this for about 2 years. My health is great. I'm slowly moving towards a more carnivore diet, but I still enjoy my greens. I eat absolutely no processed foods, in any form.

Better to dissolve 1/2 teaspoon in one liter of water , and take only 1 tablespoon of this solution a day .. This with will give you about 15 mg of boron a day , and be better on your kidneys ....

I doubt you'll ever receive an answer on your question, because a doctor can get into trouble by answering, but let's wait and see. A teaspoon holds some 8.5 grams of borax, so a quarter: 8.5 / 4 = 2.13 grams. Now we must work with the amount of the element Boron. Household borax has 11.3% of elemental boron. So, your quarter teaspoon has 2.13 x 0.113 = 0.24 grams or 240 mg of boron. I would not take that, personally, only to ward off e.g. arthritis. I know that those high doses are used for a while to fight serious Candida in the gut. I am not a medical doctor and I am not giving medical advice, I talk about supplementing only. I use for supplementation the following diluted solution: *I dissolve 9 grams of borax in 500 ml of hot pure water. I leave it overnight to completely dissolve. The water best is distilled or demineralized, if that is not available nearby, boil the water before use. Store or in a dark place to avoid formation of algae, fridge is best. One ml of the solution contains approximately two mg of elemental boron. So, 5 ml (this is one US teaspoon) contains 10 mg of boron. I take 5 ml daily in a glass of water, cup of coffee or in food* To weigh the borax, use a weighing scale with 0.1 gram readout. You can buy cheap weighing scales on e.g. AliExpress or Amazon. If you want to use your teaspoon: use 1 teaspoon of borax and dissolve it in 500 ml water...

I think it would be worthwhile to do a video on supplementation for bone end joint health. This is my list: Vitamins D and K2. Magnesium, boron. Collagen. Calcium only from food. I consider all these as things we don't get enough of and all are needed for bone health. Most people would forget the collagen. But its a big part of bone, not just joints, and we certainly don't produce enough of it without support.

That's a great list!

Um, he has master classes on all of those except maybe calcium from food. Check out his live tab to find the hour long discussions and at this point he typically does a separate hour to hour and a half long q&a a couple days later. He also has lives specifically looking at bone health.

I forgot about taurine for bone health. I should have included that too in my list. A quick overview about that in this video: Taurine: Aging Backwards? [Study 193 Analysis] Physionic At 16:00, taurine has a profound effect on bone. Substantially improved both density and strength in mice. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/hn-toYBmlshjfbc

I'm on the exact list of supplements that you take. I have arthritis in my knee and no doubt boron and collagen have helped.

What kind of of boron should we take?

Regarding not just vegan and not just carnivore, Yes! Everything in moderation. I suppose the next thing we would have to figure out is what's the definition of moderation. ;)

Great video as always👌 Every time I start taking boron I have back and knee pain after some days (even with low boron dosages such as 3 mg). What could be the issue? Too much estrogen lowering, decalcification, copper depletion, something else? Thanks.

It might be a "Herxheimer reaction" Examples are that is a lot of Candida is in your gut, it may die off and release toxins that wreak havoc temporary. Or if you have heavy metals, boron may release those by binding to it ("chelation") and your body responds to that. Not sure if that's really happening, but I read about cases before.. You may want to Google the subject Herxheimer yourself in relation to your symptoms or to Boron..
