This is my first time brining a turkey this year! My question is, after brining the turkey for, let’s say, 24 hours, do I just follow the next steps of marinating/spicing as usual? Like in your butter & garlic turkey recipe, correct? Thanks in advance!

Hi! I personally would not do a second brine if it's already pre-brined. It might make the turkey too salty. However, I would absolutely season the turkey with one of my turkey butter spreads. Here's my most popular one: tatyanaseverydayfood.com/thanksgiving-turkey/#recipe For a 24 pound turkey, I would double the amount of butter spread.

Do I need to use a foodsafe bag or can I just wash my pot and lid and brine without the bag?
@adamc77554 жыл бұрын
You only need to use a food safe container. However the turkey has to be completely submerged, so a lot of people use a large non-food safe container, like a cooler, and a brining bag you can buy for two dollars at the store.
