EQUIPMENT:
We use Skype to monitor video and use Call Recorder to capture all of the audio and data up front, as a backup.
We record video and audio independently, so it's a little nicer quality than a skype call. In order to do this Brent uses a Panasonic Lumix GH4 and an MXL 990 Mic to capture everything in camera and on his computer via Audacity. Casey also uses a Panasonic Lumix GH4 and an MXL 990 Mic, everything is recorded in camera and in Adobe Audition. Doing this gives us the freedom to be able to edit video and audio in high quality for the podcast. Everything is edited in Adobe Premiere Pro and output to KZbin and Podcast services.
These podcasts are edited and uploaded by Editor Matt! Whom you should continue to thank in the comments of each video, and give as much crap to as possible..we kid of course, these podcasts wouldn't be uploaded probably ever if it weren't for him!
Except for this week, which is why it sucks in comparison! Thanks Casey...for nothin.

Convert the space marine back and give him up a fishing campaign badge. The old masters would often undercoat their paintings with burnt umber, they might have been on to something! Stynlrez makes an Ebon Flesh primer that’s a nice brown.

Also, in the past I had only seen the eBay Miniature Rescue videos in collaboration with Goobertown Hobbies, just did not had any interest in them. But now that I have caught up with both Goobertown Hobbies and Paint Bravely (oh, and Gobbertown Cats) I decided to give them a chance, and oh......I have been missing. Vallejo makes several awesome turquoise colors. VMC 70.840 Light Turquoise, 70.966 Turquiose, 70.808 Blue Green VGC 72.024. Zenethal highlighting with white paint without speckling requires a little more thinning and higher PSI. I tend to airbrush white at to 30-35 PSI and normal painting is 18-20 PSI.

I recently started using Krylon's Red Oxide spray primer. Spotted a can at Lowe's and was curious, so I bought it and I've tried it out on a few minis and I'm really digging it. Pick one up if you see it.

I paint lures. I use Bob Smith Industries 2 part epoxy to coat them. Paint stays on great.

From what I've managed to look up about teal and turquoise, they're both shades of cyan, described as bluish-greens (moderate and brilliant, respectively). The practical difference seems to be that teal is darker and turquoise is brighter while the hue difference is negligible.

Well, I have to disagree with this week's primer tip then. There is no universal primer (unless it's white, but even that). You have to adapt your primer (or under paint if you single-prime) to the mini you're going to go for. The recommendation today has its own limitations: what if I want to paint white cloth? Bright shiny silver armor? Black cloth with a blue-cold shadow? Zombies with decaying skin? What if my model's overall shadows are cold? I think there is no universal answer, only options we can choose. Having said that, I'm 100% with you guys on this being great for (a lot of) skin areas. Anyway - this is an open hobby. You do you, I do me and we'll all have fun looking at our minis and playing with them.

Nice! The flesh shade is labeled gloss on the bottom of the label, it kinda blends in though so it's hard to see on a paint wrack.

Theoretically speaking, would the red-brown work as an undertone if I were to paint someone like a warboy from Mad Max Fury Road>? Technically they still have flesh coloured skin underneath but they have painted themselves white.

Oh absolutely! sand, rust, and sunburns are all red-brown. Throw some chalky white and chrome on there and you've got some warboys! :-)

I know Cursed City was a big SNAFU, but man I’m tired of hearing about it. ☹️ Wouldn’t surprise me if GW brings it back at some point after they work out whatever the issue was. You don’t hype a game that much for months, only to suddenly pull a 180 and claim it was supposed to be limited all along, along with deleting the game-specific website, without some serious behind the scenes problems. I’ll have to try the red-brown primer on my next batch of orks, that’s a great idea. I know Stynylrez comes in a bunch of different colors, is that by any chance one of them?

I imagine someday they will address it, for now, I’m happy to have a copy and I’ll try and put it to use! Stynylrez makes a lot of colors, but I don’t think a red brown is one of them. Best thing to do it do a black coat of primer snd then spray the model with some red brown paint that you already have. It could easily be argued that this is more of an undercoating step that works very well for a ton of stuff, rather than a primer step. Coincidentally both Brent and I have just been using red brown primers over black for the last couple of months with great success!

I wasn’t hugely interested in Cursed City, but the models are nice for sure. When they first started showing it off I actually had a brief moment of hope that they were bringing Mordheim back.

Yeah, hobby streak is dangerous, I'm already on 552nd day of my streak and with each additional day it become more and more pressing to not break it at all costs)))) P. S.: Brent, you're wrong, like good old orcs and goblins, kruleboyz are menacing and with the pinch of comical insanity, look in the faces on old warhammer greenskins, there're no smiles on them.
