Hey Chuck. Enjoyed your video. I'm expat Scot/Aussie now retired (over 4 and a half years) in Korat with my Thai wife. Everything you could possibly need is in Korat and this place is expanding at a rapid rate. About one third of the Thai population live in Isaan and the infrastructure investment in this area is leaping forward. I've clocked up 100,000 kilometres in Thailand and visited many fantastic places. I love the family scene and how everyone interacts, especially when we visit my wife's house in the countryside. I get a bit angry at the negative Farangs who constantly knock Thailand with their sad stories. You're the exact opposite, same as me. Keep up the good work mate. Cheers. P.s the "Soi Mafia" was a good description.

Too cute for the teasing กะเทยน้อย on the little Garfield. Ah Hong must be inspired by Paw Somchai to be a policeman. So cool you handpicked gifts for each kid. The MALL has extended it's venue to compete with the new comers, Terminal 21 and Central Plaza. Everything is growing. Thanks again for the tour!

The only thing I have agianst Korat is that the traffic sometimes reminds about the traffic in Bangkok. My wife's regional headoffice is in Korat so from time to time I go with her (when she has to go the headoffice for meetings and conferences) when I need to buy IT stuff that I can not find locally. So often when I go from the regional office to the Mall, or other places, it's often during the rush hours. Usually quite heavy and fast traffic and not so very nice driving.

HEY CHUCK AND PAIGE AND FAMILY, I LIKE THE PLACE YOU STAYED AT.THE WAT YOU WENT TO I HAVE BEEN THERE A FEW TIMES. I LIKE THE COFFEE SHOP YOU STOPPED AT AND I'VE BEEN THERE TOO. I LIKE THE BIG TRANSFORMERS MADE OUT OF OLD JUNK. NOW YOU'RE IN MY NECK OF THE WOODS IN KORAT. I DO PREFER THE MALL OR TERMINAL 21 OVER THE NEW MALL, EVEN THOUGH I LIVE RIGHT BEHIND IT. INFACT I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER WHAT IT'S CALLED. LOL I SURE AM MISSING THAILAND BUT IT'S ONLY ONE MORE MONTH. LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING BACK. IT'S LIKE YOU ARE MORE FREE THERE. I DON'T KNOW IF YOU ARE BUT IT SEEMS LIKE IT.I THINK IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE PEOPLE ARE LAYEDBACK AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE FUTURE, THEY JUST LIVE IN THE PRESENT AND ENJOY LIFE AND OF COURSE ALWAYS SMILE. Chuck, you said it was "almost freezing" and all of you were wearing pullovers... All the times I been to Thailand it was either hot, hotter or just so crazy humid I could only walk for an hour or so and had to go back to the place I was staying (I'm talking Bangkok here...). Is it different in Issan? what are the seasons like there? what are the cooler months?

Hey Billy. We have great choices in Korat with 3 excellent malls that just about cater for anyone's taste. Nightlife for Westerners is limited but when I feel the need, it's off to Jomtien and Pattaya for a quick fix. I really enjoy retirement living in Korat, visiting my wife's extended family in the countryside and sampling the "real Thailand." I now have lots of in-laws, nephews and a two year old Thai granddaughter. "Happy days mate."

@@jimferguson7503 , I will be doing the same thing next year and will be in Korat for Xmas.Some things I love about Korat are the cool cafes that are there, the cafe culture of the modern Korat generation, Bung Ta Lua Park which is a beautiful park for recreation and the lack of stress due to less congestion in the city.Happy to meet up if you are there on 23rd/24th Dec.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you sound robotic when you speak Thai. Try and be more natural sounding like when you speak English. Try to be less monotonic
@onlittlethings58945 жыл бұрын
Considering Thai a tonal language, Chuck is doing a great job pronouncing words. Once in a while we might find very few Americans to be able to pronouce the subtle difference of the five tones like Adam Bradshaw or Mark Weins.
