Dan, In my time surfers would do almost anything to avoid getting a real job and keep surfin', most of them illegal. Even if you have to ride chicken buses and sleep in $10/night hostels you are living the surfer's dream. I've chased that rainbow for most of my 70 y/o life and never regretted a minute of it.

Stayed there for weeks and the crowd never lets up. Every morning 4:00 to 5 surf camp Jeeps dropping off six to eight guys per load during the best tide window, then another 30 or so guys walking the trail or taking a motorcycle down and since there's nothing else to do in the area except for surf you barely ever see a window without people. It's almost as if the internet and the age of information is ruining the luck of finding a uncrowded spot
@chapmanroot40773 ай бұрын
can't believe you weren't more stoked. the boom is maybe the best spot in the world to get barreled when you factor in the consistency, crowd, sand bottom, distance from shore, winds, etc. how many other videos do you have where you are immediately pulling into barrels when its not even a good day?

I think ya missed one of the best spots in Nicaragua. You should have stopped by Miramar and tried to catch El Transito, Punta Miramar and Puerto Sandino. Less crowd, excellent surf. Check in with Greg @ Sirena Surf Lodge. He'll get you set up!

Fortunately I can remember when most of Central America was unpopulated early eighties into the nineties is when it started to be known as La Costa Gringo and has been going downhill for finding uncrowded spots and over development which was great for locals but bad for the environment and infrastructure never kept up with the times Always appreciate and enjoy your content my friend Be well and Safe travels Dan the Man 👍🤙🏻

Most beachies - even the best are semi fickle at best, sometimes the banks just form and it will pump for a few weeks straight, other times they just dont want to play the game. I guess thats part of what makes scoring perfect beach breaks so good - add to that you can take off on the craziest shallowest tubes without the reef factor 🤙

I'm wondering if when people come home from a trip , post it and tell how awesome of a place , how epic the waves were and that you should definitely go there would make a destination more crowded. If some people didn't care about attention and want to show themselves getting pitted.. that's life, move on to the next place and the same thing will be done. Look at ulu now. Disneyland on small days and med days. World wide web. Peace ✌️😊

Yes unfortunately Nica is definitely over rated. The majority of the spots offer very short rides. Waves closeout very fast as Dan confirmed. With all the new surf camps it has gone extremely crowded. The majority are beginners with no knowledge of surf etiquette. It used to be a paradise because no one was there. But now it has gotten impossible to catch good waves

Haha you people who complain when people talk about the beaches they surf are so funny. It’s a real selfish part of surf culture thinking you own a beach, and getting upset. There are beaches all over the world and you are here for a short time and will only surf a fraction of them. Every beach you have surfed was surfed by someone before you. 😂
