The ending was very ''anti-climactic'' and you are a fool to even try to somehow tell me otherwise. How did SB's charge in herogasm left whole building full of entrails, etc... but his charge towards Homelander (That has to be fuelled by hatred towards himself - Finally understanding what his father said to him, after how he seen HL's daddy issues, realizing he most likely acted the same way to his dad.) only left Maeve without 1 eye? You have to understand, this was SB's full-willingly charged blast, not a mistake(s) like earlier in season. Writing of this season is meh at best and writers had little to no idea what do to with SB, because his charge is simply OP, or was supposed to be at first, so they nerfed it down without any explanation. not to mention they show some plots just to put it to sleep episode later, but conflict between Butcher and Homelander just keeps on dragging and every season ends the same. WIth Ryan being mixed in and unknowingly f*ing it all up.

Can I see where you are coming from…yes, however u say nothing important happens in s3 but when you think about it Edgar got locked up so that frees Homelander more than he has been then in the last ep Ryan goes with Homelander making that more of a threat towards Butcher and the boys. That being said that should be enough to set up next season, but if you need more Black Noir died by Homelander ,Ashly (not sure how u spell her name) is going through a mid life crisis because of the fear she has of Homelander and being CEO of Vought so that also leaves that for next season and A-Train getting a new heart or smth like that and having his brother not being able to walk ruining family life also leaves something open for next season…

Agree with your main points but HIGHLY disagree with the support. By the end of season 3, starlight left the boys, the boys are outside the law again, Homelander has the support of his son and revealed him to the world, he publicly killed a person, and Newman is working with Homelander to control the government. Things are different but like you said the show did too much and too little. For example, we didn’t explore Newman like we should have, especially with her daughter. But the show rarely contracted itself. Mother’s milk reasoning was never explored before because soldier boy was beloved to be dead. Maybe there should have been more foreshadowing in prior seasons but not really a problem. Hughie wasn’t power hungry; he was just justifiably scared and angry yet also unjustifiably insecure. Butcher doesn’t rival Homelander. He barely could deal with him with the help of soldier boy and Hughie. But, although Homelander is genetically stronger, Butcher is also not a pushover because not only did he get similar powers to Homelander but also has combat experience. A-Train is heavily implied to stand against Homelander in the future. It makes no sense to kill him. When you brought the problem up, I thought you would have said Maeve because her story clearly ended at season 3. There was no reason to keep her alive also because it introduces a plot hole; she lost her powers in the explosion, hundreds of feet in the air. She should have died on impact to the ground. I’m not worried about season 4 but I do have criticisms. Season 1 will always be my favorite season.

After finding out his boss is a supe and feeling powerless I wouldve wanted some compound V. And Nadia turning on Edgar makes sense because he would have thought she was too dangerous to be in the white house. But getting him out of the way and killing the VP made it almost easy for her to become VP.

Interesting, as a pretty big fan of the show (it's probably my fave live action show on TV atm) I appreciate this view. Even though I'd say season 3 was still good overall it was my least favourite season of the show. Personally I'd rank the seasons: 2 > 1 > 3 (However, I can understand if you say 1 was the best too. 1 definitely set the world up of the boys really well. Though at least for me, season 2 is where I really fell in love with the show.) Homelander is probably the most important character of the show. Much of the story revolves around him now from what I see. Though it felt like in season 3 the writers knew that so they brought in Soldier Boy to spice things up. Though imo Soldier Boy wasn't as interesting as Stormfront from the last season. Also, that whole subplot with Frenchie in season 3 didn't quite hit the mark for me, the one where this new lady character from his past turns up and torments him etc. And yes, like many have pointed out the finale was disappointing with Butcher betraying SB pretty abruptly. I get that he wanted to protect Ryan but having Butcher fight SB when he was literally this |_| close to taking down Homelander felt forced and that whole confrontation/battle at the end felt like it didn't have enough consequence. Especially with SB just being returned to his prior state. It felt they had everything set up for Homelander to be taken down but slammed the brakes at the last minute just to (presumably) keep HL around so they can have at least another season. I really hope they go all out in Season 4 and don't hold anything back. I don't entirely agree that they don't kill off enough characters. Madelyn, Jennifer Esposito's character, Dr Volgolbum(?), Black Noir and Stormfront were all surprising deaths that still felt still impactful. Though I'm pretty sure either A Train or The Deep will die next season. A Train especially has been on something of a redemption arc in season 3 so I'm fine with him not having died just yet. I dunno what my point is, I'm just rambling now tbh. I still like the show but I also do understand several of your concerns and too have some of my own. Yet, I'm still very excited to see which direction they'll go in season 4. Homelander is such a great villain and character. I really want them to do him justice.

M.M. never really talked about Soldier Boy before because he never needed to. As far as anybody outside of the Russian government knew, Soldier Boy had been dead for over thirty years. Why would he bring up an irrelevant, dead douchebag? And given how M.M. basically had flashbacks when he saw him, he probably had repressed that memory and only now had it been brought back to him. As for Hughie, he had always wanted to be able to protect Annie because he cared for her, but her having powers and him not having them go in the way of it, which Hughie just accepted as the status quo until he found out about Temp-V, and the floodgates opened. It wasn't until he came to the realization that he didn't need to be there *physically* to help and protect the people he cares about did he quit the Temp-V. (And he found out that it almost killed him, so that also made him quit) Characters generally stay at the same power-level throughout the entire series aside from power-ups like V. I can't think of any times when a character got weaker or stronger so the fight could go a certain way. Take Homelander vs Butcher, Hughie, and Soldier Boy. Everybody was giving it their all, and the tides kept shifting not because one character got weaker so the other could have a fighting chance, but because they used their heads and weren't just blindly throwing punches. As for Butcher being equal in power to Homelander, he's not. Just look at how violently Butcher got knocked back by Homelander's heat vision compared to when the roles were reversed. And when their beams clashed, you can clearly see that Butcher is putting everything into it while Homelander is barely trying, smiling away. The only character who is even close to being equal to Homelander is Soldier Boy, who is still ever so slightly weaker than him and was way fewer abilities, even after getting his upgrade from the Russians. Starlight's phone not being tapped isn't a plot hole. Why would they tap her phone? They'd have no reason to. Just because she's in the Seven? That makes no sense. Nobody had any reason to believe that she was doing anything suspicious or malevolent towards Vought except for Homelander, and he was sure that he'd scared her enough to prevent her from doing that. And once they did find out that she was working against them, she had already left. Even if they somehow managed to put a bug on her phone after that, I'm sure one of the other members of The Boys could've just removed it. Frenchie being nerfed against the Russians when he could kill Supes isn't a plot hole either. It wasn't like he singlehandedly fought and killed a dozen Supes with nothing but the clothes on his back; he probably spent weeks or even months preparing everything down to the last minute detail to make sure that he gets the job done. He even says that every Supe has their own strengths and weaknesses, which lets him defeat them. Basically, imagine Batman vs Superman, but Batman has a week to prepare. Superman would get his ass handed to him instantly. As for Frenchie not being able to fight the Russians, well, first of all, he's probably got some PTSD or something similar because of them. Secondly, he didn't have days of prep-time, it was a get in, get out type of mission. Plus, it was him and like four other people against an entire, powerful organization who all had military-grade training and equipment. It would be like Batman by himself with no prep-time vs an entire Mexican cartel. As for the show not killing off many people, it killed off or at least wrote out tons of characters! Season one only really killed Popclaw and Translucent if I remember correctly. Season two killed off Kenji, Shockwave, Doppelganger, and loads more minor characters. Season three killed off all of Payback, Stormfront, Black Noir, Bluehawk, Termite, Supersonic, Tony, wrote out Soldier Boy, Stan Edgar, and Maeve. (who also lost her powers) Also, the story isn't back at square one, it's gotten worse than it was before. In season one, nobody knew Homelander was such an awful person, but in season 3, everybody knows, and loads of people actively support him.

(Reaally long essay lmao, sorry in advance) To be fair, when you think about it, one super acclaimed show that didn't really kill off much of it's arguably important characters until late season 4/season 5 is Breaking Bad, but not many really talk about that fsr. I'd safely assume bigger things are saved for these last couple of seasons. I could see about two or so important characters dying next season actually, then some more in the last. It's weird because I'd usually agree, but here's the thing: I actually think it works well in The Boys as well. Or at least I can't really be bothered too much by it. The "hard to kill" aspect works for most of the supes, just how it worked for most of the main criminals in BrBa to me. By all means as a writer you should come at peace of the fact that you need to write off some of your main guys at some point, so I get what you mean. But honestly, killing off more while having no concluded arc will do them worse in the end. I'd rather have them take their time with a character so they can wrap up their story nicely before they off them. Idk, if A-train died, his "redemption arc" would've fallen into the "bad guy sacrifices himself with no other work needed" trope. If they're looking to redeem him (which seems like they are) I'd honestly rather see him get to live and ACTUALLY struggle to do better up to one point, it's just less lazy and less cliché that way imo. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I think killing Noir was not as bad of a call as some make it seem like it was either. His death means Homelander's loss of the last person that actually gave a shit about him, not to mention that it has clearly made much better light of Homelander's hypocrisy in A-train's and Ashley's eyes. And The Deep seems like he can finally read the room lol. I think having a double and not the real Earving by his side will take a toll on Homelander quite a lot as the next season progresses. As for Soldier Boy and Maeve (Butcher's fuck up aside), I am once again not really all that concerned over them not dying there. S3 still felt too early for them to be offed to me. Either way, they are very likely saving Soldier Boy up for the last season, and as for Maeve - she'll quite likely get a fair match up with Homelander in S5 as well (both depowered perhaps?) I think Game of Thrones has falsely left the impression that just "multiple major character deaths = immediate shock and good drama", because that shows always comes up as a prime example of being merciless with so many characters and being really good for that specifically. It worked for GoT. Obviously you're welcome to lean onto that, but killing characters left and right won't inherently make you a better writer imo. I think they should choose wisely on how many stay for longer and how many don't, I could have my criticisms but honestly overall I don't have a problem with it. I'm mainly positive about S4, I think S3 had a pretty amazing left off so I'm curious om how it's gonna go tbh. But honestly, much like with everything, I could see why it would be best if we remained neutral at least until like a trailer or something. I hope the SAG members get what they deserve first though, I know everyone's pretty impatient but there's no point in rushing this new season out tbh. Better have better quality later than something lesser sooner.

Speaking of Breaking Bad though, back in the day a lot of people thought the finale to season 4 could've easily marked the ending of the series as well (some still do, looking back I also disagree about that tho). But it's true that it does have a pretty good form of finality to it, and I guess it could've been enough even with just that. Not to compare too much but actually it wasn't that much of a planned out show either, they were still essentially figuring things out season by season. A lot of the driving force behind Breaking Bad to me was seeing Walt become a worse version of himself each season. If it was cut before a 5th season, or if the downward spiral was less spent on, it wouldn't have felt as satisfying. I think that's a part of that's really driving The Boys further as well, Homelander has definitely not reached his worst in season 3. I think two more steps to go into his insanity arc are more than fair, but each to their own... Sorry for making this too long again... Nice and concise vid though! Left you a like. I rarely say such things but I can not do otherwise this time. If you do not want to watch this series than, don't do it. If you don't enjoy it anymore, why do you feel forced to watch the next season. For me this show fot only better, through out these last seasons. Because i am not interested in when this show ends but how it ends. I am interested in the character development, many of them had. Take for example A-Train. At the beggining of the show he was an irresponsible, and careless person. Since then he lost his girlfriend, and now his brother wants to keep distance from him, he starts to understand the meaning and value of life and relationships. His character gets depth instead of nerfing him as a narcissistic buffon he was in the comics. About Victoria and Stan, maybe their connection got that few spotlight because it was irrelevant, because Stan got nerfed from the stage around the end of this season. And about the environment, Homelanders fans basically evolved from fans to fanatics. Just think about the foster father of MM's daughter (I forgot his name). The atmosphere is heating, they are trying to legitimize murder commited be Homelander by victim blaming that stupid fan of Starlight. This show is just getting better and better, and I am eager to see the new season that is stuck in the studio due to that damn strike.

Bro season 3 was my favorite. Each season was better than the last. Season 1 was just an introduction. If you think season 1 was the best season then your probably someone that watches shows that mostly consists of fillers and skips dialogue in games.

I do agree with you on the show runner is just too scared to write someone dead. I mean no one cares about A-train, Mother's milk, The Deep, and even Frenchy. They should've been dead since season 2

Your youtube name unfortunately wasn't a lie. You made a decent point here and there, but most of your opinion is plain bad, you have to learn to grasp the point of character growth. Hughie wasn't really power hungry, he wanted to be the one saving Annie instead of th eother way around, if you'd have watched the show instead of looking at nudes of your mom, you'd have known, he literally says it. Altough he did get over it too fast, that's true. But my counterpoint to that is simply, he knew he'd basically be a walking corpse taking another shot, so he rather lived then take another shot, and die.

there is some personal opinion but i feel most of my viewpoints are grounded in reality, i never said the show was bad.. i like the boys, just based off of my points throughout the video (esp because there will be a s5) i worry about s4 and how it will make itself needed if that makes sense.

I agree with a lot of what you said, save the A-train should've died comment. A-train has been set up for a redemption arc, and the murder of someone (especially for revenge) after what he's done is not redemption. He still had story left to explore.
