We've got another viewer-submitted slug design to test today. Brian actually sent a LOT of variants that we'll test in the future. In order to use the same load recipe, we'll test 8 of the slug that are the same with only minor variations.
Big thanks to our Patreon supporters who stuck with me even though I asked them to reduce or stop pledging!

There is a teflon ring used to seal Transmissions. Every transmission shop has a box of leftover 700R4 seals they never use. The ones used in a 700R4 would work really well for this application. You just need to make a ledge in the projectile to fit the seal. Would work as an attached sabot and a gas seal. Wouldn't need the sabot and the steel would never touch the barrel. The teflon seal is meant to resists about the same pressures as the rifle. Might look into it. They are uniquely shaped so would be ideal for this purpose. Very resistant to heat. Often the only seals to survive a complete Tra nny burn out.

If you switch to a stronger bolt action (I suggest a Savage), use RMC brass, you will be able to use larger charges of very slow powder to get more velocity, which will of course mean more penetration and longer range. When shooting at a T-Rex with a tiny 45 gram (1.58 ounce) projectile I like to see a minimum of about 1,700 FPS. Penetration is everything as we could be talking about having (depending on the angle) to penetrate 48 inches of meat to reach the heart and of course pretty dense ribs or sternum are often in the way. A similar problem arises when taking a hip shot to slow the animal down. Those pelvic and thigh bones are pretty thick and dense. A tungsten carbide core instead of lead would probably also help the penetration. :)

Hey Jeff! I just wanted to confirm your findings. My views are 1/5 of where they were a year ago. 1k per day rather than 5k. My monthly ad rev is only 20% of where I was in 2020-2021. Back then I got 15-20k daily views. Absolutely nothing has changed about my format, and it's even 4k. Staying challenged. There's a terrible disturbance in the audience or the algorithms, but I refuse to let it change me. My channel would be dead without Patreon because my videos aren't cheap to make. Those guys are saints, and I never listened to you when you told me to quit. Additionally, I wish Shorts would go away forever, or split off and become an entirely different Google product. It doesn't belong here, it sucks viewers into a hole where they can't see real videos that we work tirelessly to create. We have to compete with Shorts for the exact same audience. Their quality, format, and largely their message is *terrible.* I believe they're destroying the credibility of the filmmakers on this platform. Those unfazed by it still get to contend with the up-to-an-hour-long-ads. The advertising team at KZbin needs an overhaul.

Jeff, Thank you for the content you provide, it's always a pleasure to watch another new video from your channel. I love watching the various projectiles that fans make and send to you for analysis, really neat format for content. And padding it with various one-off videos and random slug tests? Pure genius. Presumably, you'll never run out of content to make, and the potentially marketable slugs you receive is just an added bonus. Did the Ballistic Machinist send you guys more Interceptor rounds? Those things are the new hotness, and quite hard to purchase the last time I looked into it... Regardless, I wish you and Greg the best. Hope you all and your families are safe and happy. Please, keep up the good work, your efforts to create media are not wasted based on the ~1.5 million subscribers you have! -AHS
