Value for money the double speed wins clearly. As an ex-valeter and hobby detailer, it's my wax of choice. Not only is it very good for beading, and outstanding value for money, it has the best longevity of any wax I have used. The only downside, if you put too much on, and leave it for too long before removing, it's actually quite a struggle getting it off.

This is a really good video. What I really appreciate is taking the time to go beyond the marketing and explain some of the nuances between these products. It is not really clear at all what the target end user is of these when you stick to the tear sheet. I did not know that the balm was principally a corrosion inhibitor first, and a visual enhancement second. That's a very interesting point. That actually might be better for some of the applications I have which are older vehicles that have a number of rock chips on them.

Absolute brilliant, detailed look at their range of waxes!!! I’m slowly moving most of my products over to BH as the few I have or used are excellent…I’ve just bought a new (to me) car and although I have DSW I may also purchase Finis now 👍 Like you said, I’d be interested to know if a Auto-Balm combo with DSW/Finis would work!

Really good video, kept me engaged till the end. I do have some Double Speed Wax but haven’t used it yet. Still waiting for a break in this sheeeite weather to break it out. Quick newbie question though if I may? When you are buffing off with the same Microfibre cloth, would cross contamination of the three different products compromise the overall results on each panel? Keep up the good work with TCB, loving the podcasts! 😊
@thecarboutique2467 Жыл бұрын
Hiya buddy and thanks for watching 1 of our original videos. Your observation is correct. Albeit minimal influence, a fresh towel.shpuld be used to avoid cross contamination. Top observation buddy.

I love bilt hamber products, been using them for a year and it a no nonsense range. Can you layer auto balm over existing ceramic coatings
@thecarboutique24672 жыл бұрын
I personally would not as the ceramic would not bond very well. I have applied wax on top of ceramic for the warm glow it gives but even then, the wax doesn't last as long as like ceramic, products bond best to clean paint.

@thecarboutique24673 жыл бұрын
Great stuff. You won't be disappointed. Good luck.
@thecarboutique24673 жыл бұрын
@@salehuddin8871 The swipe test. Run your finger across the panel where you have applied wax. If it is still oily or wet where you have swiped then leave the wax longer. If you swipe your finger and the panel underneath is dry or shows no sign of wax smearing, it's a good indicator you can buff off the wax.

You're preaching to the converted with BH products but a great comparison so we can decide which to go for. I've got DSW but not had chance to try it yet, partly because I was put off by the various posts about how difficult it is to use on hot panels (our drive points south :-( ) but looking forward to giving it a go. You mention using a panel wipe, do you use a bought one or make up your own?
@thecarboutique24673 жыл бұрын
Hiya Shaun. Panel wipe wise I usually use Mitchell & King pre wax cleaner or Gtechniq Panel wipe. I find if you remove DSW quicker than the recommended 5 to 10 minutes you don't get the removal issues. I only leave mine for a minute or 2. Cheers

HI The best ever is to use Bilt Hamber clay fr the UK they have their own clay mine! avail in S, M, H grades it is so pure they say and it is TRUE! you can use just plain water for lube ! ! try it let me know what you think? and update your video with w/an addendum ? thx Jack ps A GENUINE, REAL SEA SPONGE IS BEST for washing better than some dumb fake sponge or microfiber mitt ! holds MORE water and suds and consumers reports scientists and engineers say it is best too and will NOT scratch !
@thecarboutique2467 Жыл бұрын
Hiya Jake. Eventually getting back to you. I have tried all the BH clays and they do their job well. I do find the clays are a bit hard to use at the start but leaving them in warm water pre-use does help to soften them up. I must confess to only use them with dedicated clay lubes and have not used them just with water. We aim to do a full car detail using BH products this year so will try using just water as the lubrication. Hope you are well buddy.

DSW is a good wax. It can be a little tricky to remove if you apply too thick. It's main attribute is its longevity and that is why so many people use it as their winter protection.
