too late but invest in either some heat shrink tubing to use in place of electrical tape, also they have self soldering heat shrinking connectors for splicing that work just awesome, might be a bit much for the smaller wires but it gives you such a better and water resistant result its well worth it... Don't use electrical tape on wiring harness on a 100k vehicle save that for the cheap 4 bangers...

The acid in old lead acid batteries is good for removing corrosion from blackened copper wires. Worth saving some before scrapping an old battery.
@truetech41589 ай бұрын
That sounds interesting, though probably if to also completely remove the acid afterwords with some type of neutralizing treatment if it could risk acidic etching, and some plastics of wire coatings might get ingress easily chipping or cracking similar to what UV can do over time to materials? Water could reduce the PH, though might be a corrosion concern if any moisture, so if thats the case then maybe a mineral oil instead due to the nature of metals. #SebaciousOils

I like the small details of Inja's rebuilds. That's why I also like watching Samcrac resolve small problems which are just as important as the bigger problems. It's all part of the rebuild. This is a really enjoyable project to watch. No complaints about the shortcuts to save some time and money. It's the Inja's money and he is trying to keep a budget. I'm hoping everything goes smoothly with the body parts and that windshield. I'm a bit concerned about the wiring as he doesn't have any schematics to work with. I suppose his new friend can help him out. I don't want any shorts melting the wiring harness and such. Such a fine project and I can't wait to see how it turns out. McLarens look nice but they seem so fragile and finicky. I wish the Inja the best of luck with that car.

A good coating would be that stuff you can brush on or dip, such as the material that could resist rockchips and road salt etc, you know that stuff thats on the handgrips of your needlenose pliers? Also, can do small scale powdercoating ideal for surfaces that deal with flying debris or abrasion. Improve upon something that is already innovative such as for longevity within affordability.

Haven't finished the vid. yet, but if you have a label maker I would label those cables as you discover what they are. For soldering use a wet sponge. If you don't have a sponge use an old damp rag, but ring out most the water. Clean the iron tip periodically by wiping on the wet sponge. Keep it freshly tinned. works better; lasts longer. Research and use the right antifreeze. There are all different colors. But you probably know that. That is great your neighbor helped out.

He was able to get his point across in a public manner, a form of freedom of speech but layman's terms should not be bought and sold to the highest bidder causing people to have to speak in hypotheticals. Honestly, I'd be surprised of _any_ 3rd party made body panels didn't need at least a little bit of adjustment, supercar or not. A car is mostly pumps pipes and gears at least until you get to the electronics so i don't see this being a problem if you know which pipe goes where. Although I might feel a little concerned about whether the rubber hoses will be as sturdy as the metal pipes they're replacing... But I'd imagine they might be easier to replace if it needs to be done at all.
@TheInja9 ай бұрын
For sure! In regards to pipe strength, all the coolant lines turn into hoses anyway, won't be too much of a weak point adding a couple more inches of hose to the lines. Thanks the hope!
