Watching this video, I was wondering if you ever worked on a STP 111 movement, another clone of the ETA 2824 (or maybe the Seagull directly), as there are speculations about the fact some parts would be chinese made. I was looking to buy a Zodiac watch that has it, I love those, but hesitate to pull the trigger since they belong to the Fossil group. Thank you for your videos that always are very informative. Happy holidays!

Very useful evaluation of the Clone 2824. It's disconcerting but expected that Chinese movement manufacturers are starting to catch up to Swiss movement makers. It will be interesting to see how Swiss movement makers will adapt to the competition.

I am currently servicing a ST2130 used in a original Sea Gull-watch. I got the impression that those movements used for their own brand are kind of better quality than those sold to other brands. And those ETA-clones produced today obviousely are of better manufacturing quality than those made a couple of years ago. If you check out their website, they show a picture of a lately made ST2130. Optically, there is no difference to the orignal ETA2824-2, at all.

As an absolute beginner I'm always very fascinated on how you're dismantling and reassembly any watch with some very precise and steady movements, while your top notch macro shootings make me believe I can also try to thread this path only to find those microscopic pieces need a great dexterity and patience to go back where they should, and at this moment I get lost more than not. I still have to understand how to apply the experience and knowledge acquired on one movement to a different one that may also have different complications or slightly different solutions for the same functions. Your videos are priceless, thanks a lot. Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year.

I have no idea what I just watched other then something short of a miracle. I have no idea how long it took you to learn how to strip and re assemble a watch but im very impressed. I would loose my mind, something I could only dream of doing. Fantastic to watch. I may have to re watch a few times as its mesmerizing

Great video! As someone new to watch repair (as a hobby) I enjoyed seeing the oiling process you went through during the rebuild of this movement, especially the keyless works. I am also please to hear that Seagull makes an acceptable product.

Great video, Mark. I learn a lot by watching your videos and reading your forum. I hope to be able to disassembly & reassemble an ETA 7750 someday. And still have it work. Taking it apart and putting it back together isn't the hard part. The hard part is having it STILL WORK when I'm done.

This mirrors my experience exactly. I've worked on a great many replicas that use the Shanghai 2824 out of the box and my tip if they really like the watch when I get it in for a dial swap or service is to change the movement to at least a Seagull if not an SW200 or a Soprod P024. In my opinion the Seagull is pretty much on par with those two and I would only recommend them over the Seagull if the client wanted a genuine Swiss movement for the sake of it being a Swiss movement.

Just found your video about 30 mins ago and just love it. The careful disassembling of the watch movements and reassembling them with such precision. You know your job. I am not surprised the watch industry are taking cruel for the electrical industry. They restricting spares, will make more fake and crones to be manufactured. These industry are just dump. Great video sir

I've been a subscriber for several years now and look forward to many more installments on the channel to come. you inspired me to begin working on watches many years ago, and I've been doing so ever since. I really enjoyed your older style videos, as well as the new ones, and was wondering if your might be doing a full service , or diagnostic and repair series as you have done in the past? It would be interesting to see a take down and reassembly of a high end Japanese movement as in the king seikos or possibly a spring drive in a grand seiko. Another suggestion would be to review the new Ronda 150 movement. Either way, keep the videos coming as I enjoy all of them, and with any luck I might win one of your repair course subscriptions since I seem to learn the most from your videos and would some day like to take your course. Best wishes, hope you had a great Christmas and are looking forward to a fantastic new year. Thanks for all you are doing to inspire so many people. Rick.
