I went to see this in theatre with some friends. We knew it was going to be bad and were hoping it would be a defacto comedy. We were right. We had a great time laughing the whole time. There were I think only three other people in the theatre and they seemed to have the same intention as us. The best part was that the movie broke several times during the presentation. Because of that, the theatre told us we would get free tickets to make up for it. We all agreed not to use those to see DrangonBall Evolution. Even though we had a blast, it would not have been as funny the second time. And although it was funny, we still felt it wasn't worth the cost of the ticket, so the free ticket made us feel like the theatre was apologizing for how bad the movie was - that they perhaps broke it on purpose to avoid getting complaints by us. I also remember feeling really bad for the actors since they did seem so passionate about it.

Not really. Just Super Sonic's appearance (and Super Shadow and Super Silver by proximity). Besides that there's no similarities. And no, don't mention general tropes like "time traveller from the future" or a freaking number as a similarity because that's not how that works.
@rapmetaldemon09 Жыл бұрын
@@EggFighterXB- the parallels are numerous lol. The super forms, the 7 magical items, the fact that both properties have similar characters (knuckles being Piccolo, Shadow being Vegeta, Eggman resembling Freeza), and the fact that the creator of Sonic was actually known to be a DB fan. And how could you not end up having parallels and taking inspiration from basically the godfather of Shonen when making stories in that style. So many anime properties ended up basically having the laid back empty headed protagonist with spiky hair and the edgy rival character that's one step down from them. The evil characters then becoming friends. The fact that both series have a radar to help find the 7 magical items. The fact that Sonic has basically worn a scouter in the past. I mean how many do you need for my statement to be valid? Why are you so vehemently against what I said here? You've definitely seen this opinion elsewhere and got heated over it. I always say, while the movie wasn't exactly good, for what it IS, people give it a hard time. People complain about stuff like various characters not being in it. But the thing is, it's basically an adaption of the Pilaf saga with pilaf himself replaced by Piccolo (including having Mai as a henchman). Though it's still missing characters since they removed the funny animal type characters. It's still not a very good movie, but it's not HORRIBLE as a modified Pilaf saga adaption.

Dragonball Evolution is the hands down proof, along with Shamalayan’s Avatar The Last Airbender, that live action adaptions of anime shouldn’t happen due to technology and cgi limitations. Thankfully, One Piece Live action as a tv series is just okay, and I have started watching the One Piece anime and I understand it is long. I saw the live action Pokémon movie in college, like the detective pikachu thing, and I thought it was a lame adaption and I could understand that it was its own thing, and I didn’t watch much of the anime series, but I have had some exposure, but it was still a better anime to live action adaptation than Evolution though. I await the dreadful day when Yu-gi-oh is adapted to live action. Heaven forbid, I hope it never happens. And also, the live action sonic movies are a nice adaption. But movie three might die if they mess up Shadow, or it might be canceled due to reasons. Live action adaptions still in my belief cannot exactly match the same hype with its anime source material. But MCU has done some interesting things with taking the characters and deviating from the comic source material. I’ve also seen some of live action ruroni Kenshin and I believe it’s just okay, whatever. Fun essay video though.
