The name "Fatima" is taken from the manga/anime The Five Star Stories. Mason is also meant to be a reference to Batman's Alfred and the actor Max von Sydow.

my favourite part of this video is the mecha folding their arms. it’s just so good. the fact a weapon/vehicle is being used for personification in such a way. Grahf’s is favourite though just cause how he stands outside on top of it replicating the same pose.
@Phil_5979 ай бұрын
The question for the true wise men is this: is the coolest way to fold your arms the way with one palm on the biceps like shown here, or with both hands tucked under the armpits like Dragon Ball characters do it? brb, turns out I don't spend nearly enough time in front of mirrors. All of mine are broken in Xenogears fashion.

There’s a cool reference between Citan and emperor Cain to Nadia and the secret blue water with Gargoyle talking to emperor Neo. Both have multiple paintings in the room, both involve an emperor, and the clock ticking in the background.

@@TheSpecialK1997 There are so many references to Nadia in XG, it was shocking when I first watched the series a couple years ago. The many Yggdrasils as part of the Eldridge to the Nautilus-type ships coming from Red Noah was a big one.

@@TJTheEmperor I know I'm kind of late, but I actually have a video comparison of this Nadia/Xenogears reference on my channel if it's of any use to you and you can use it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2Gnfn1nZtSIhKM Also, I'm loving this series so far. Great work! I love finding references like these. I'm not sure if it's something you'll mention later, but another possible Panzer World Galient reference is Gears/mechs being excavated from underground from an ancient advanced civilization. I believe in Dazil they show an image of this and at the end of episode 6 of Panzer World Galient.

16:50 Spoilers, as well as a discussion of possible meanings for Miang/Myyah. Myyah/Miang's name, written in katakana, is ミァン, directly romanizes to Myan. That 'n', especially with katakana, typically represents an 'ng' when using the latin alphabet, which is presumably where they got Miang from. It was deliberately put there, so I wonder if there's some extra meaning to be determined here. If we write it as "Myang", there's the possibility that it is a portmanteau of Myyah and "Yang" (from the concept of the Yin and Yang), which at face-value could apply to the relationship between Elhayym and Myyah, except for the fact that "Yin" is the dark part and "Yang" is the light part. Unless Elhayym is being called the dark part because she's an imperfect human being, and without the transcendental knowledge that "Myang" bears. Another possibility we get from writing it as "Myang" is that the name could be a reference to character from Macross Plus that, thanks to playing through Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden, I feel bears a certain physical resemblance to Miang/Myyah, whose name is Myung. As the emotional core/'producer' of the Virtuoid Sharon "Apple", and is originally from the colonized planet "Eden", there's another Eve reference, as well as the fact that her name literally contains "Yung" in is, with is meaningful for Macross Plus and would also be exceedingly meaningful for Myyah/Miang. Myyah, besides being the Hayym part of Elhayym backwards, has nearly no other applicable meaning that I've been able to derive. While that little bit is significant, it just seems odd, considering, well, Xeno, hence why I wonder if there actually was intended meaning that has somply been missed. But then again, this is just the thoughts of some random person on the internet who doesn't have a source for any of this, and is probably spouting complete nonsense.

So many references I had either forgotten about or didn't know to begin with, thanks for all your work on this! One that I think you may have missed - "Fatima" is probably a reference to "Our Lady of Fátima," the Catholic title for Mary, mother of Jesus. Pretty interesting considering Margie's title as "The Holy Mother of Nisan."

The Fatima reference you mentioned is probably way more likely than whatever the hell I said lol. I’m adding this to the addendum

My inference always was that Gazel is a reference to gazelle. A way of referring to the people as game free to study, capture, or hunt. Similarly, I thought Dazil might just mean Dazzle, cus there's such nice composition in that location with the rotating graphics :3
@TJTheEmperor9 ай бұрын
A lot of people think that Gazel refers to gazelle - it very well could. Since most of these references haven’t been confirmed by the developers themselves, so much of these videos have to be educated guesses - weep for me and how hard my life is lol

I don't know if you plan on covering this later on, but the name Wiseman is meant to reference an unnamed fourth magi who was said to have visited Jesus and gave him a ruby, a sapphire and a pearl. In order to enter Wiseman's room in Shevat, you need three stones like what he gave in the myth.
@TJTheEmperor9 ай бұрын
I do mention that later on, when the party meets Wiseman in Shevat. Based on where it is in the script, I’m guessing it’ll be in either episode 4 or 5.

Bart's whip might be a reference to Indiana Jones. I forget what else made me think this. Doesn't he look for treasure or explore temples too? Idk it could also just be another Panzer World Galient reference. The whole pirate in a battleship thing also reminds me of Captain Harlock and Battleship Yamato (and it gets into Nadia later but Nadia's new Nautilus was a reference to the first episode of Yamato) Im about to watch part 3 to 5 so I realize you might have put these somewhere in those but I love XG lore and references I had to post it lol

Some notes Graf may also be a reference to a German diplomat who helped the Nazis. The significance of the word “Fatima” may be in the Fatima Jasper which is actually the family’s blue eyes, similar to the hand of Fatima and other similar blue eyed symbols Ramsus’s last name is a mistranslation of “Carlin” which sometimes gets shortened just to “Carl” in the story, may be a reference to Carl Jung but Carl is also a bit of a common name so take it as you wish.

Tldr: Sheva could also refer to Sheba, a country around modern day Yeman. p1 Shaytan refers to rebellion evil spirits usually jinn but not always who tempt people to oppose Allah's guidance. Story time: Suliaman is a king and one of the prophets in islam. He is able to speak to animals and control jinn. Their was kingdom called Sheba, who had a queen named Balkis, who was known for her disbelief in Allah's. The people of sheva worshipped the sun and idols. Prophet suliaman trys to convert the people of Sheba by sending them a letter. Balkis decides to bring an entourage and go to Suliamans court to seek the meaning of the letter. Suliaman asked his assembly of humans, birds and Jinn to bring the throne of Sheba, and ifrit (word that means a powerful jinn) said he would bring it within the twinkling of the eye but a human with the divine wisdom of allah brought it faster, which convinced the queen to convert to islam. Story represents a moral lesson of humility, seeking knowledge and journey towards faith. Dunno how this relates to Shevat tbh. Balkis rules Sheba. Sheba is the English word for sheva, which is hebrew word meaning 7. Which in some religions is considered a holy number. All 3 monothestic religions, see it as a holy number in islam, there are 7 layers of heaven. I just realised sheva and shevat completely different things but uses same root, but shevat is the month but the root word for both Sh-B-T means rest or reflections. Sorry for text dump lol.
