I think it's funny how it was strategical shooters like CS that are lots about micro adjustments of aim that cultivated big mouse pads, instead of arena shooters like Quake where you constantly have to do 180s
@kidcaspertv26982 жыл бұрын
cuz most CS players play low sens since u need more precise aim compared to quake, which requires more mousepad space
@SynthgirlBulge2 жыл бұрын
the thing is that micro adjustments -> low sens (for cs riflers kinda like 800 eDpi i play on 600) -> huge 360 distances for the rare times you actually need to make that flick WIth my sens I need 66cms to 360, so 33 for 180s. I just bought a deskpad because any normal mousepad is just not big enough to 180 from the middle, barely making it possible to do a 240 across the whole thing
@RuiPalmeira2 жыл бұрын
that's cuz most Quake players had mouse acceleration on (hell, even some CS OGs played with accel), and you could do 180 turns and rocket jump around easily by just moving the mouse faster.

I found that one of the best pads I've ever used isn't an artisan pad, but actually the X-raypad aqua control series. The plus is mostly on the control side with a bit of speed, whereas the control II is more in between control and speed, but still towards control. Just note that if you do get the plus series, the rubber base wears of quickly over time.

Haven't seen the vid, just wanna point out that even the "super glide" or other names for the mouse pads and the bottom pieces of the mouse are relative to how much pressure you apply to the mouse. Changing to "toggle" on the aim button or even changing the keybind of shooting to the keyboard will make your mouse more "light" while aiming because you are not applying extra down force

Just a few years ago (and probably still in the super cheap mice), the sensors will spin out with fast motion, basically making them unusable. But I totally agree with you, these days, anything "decent" will have a sensor that's good enough, and you're just splitting hairs from there.

I think a good mouse is more important but mousepad matters way more than most people think
@drinkasap30682 жыл бұрын
@@TheCasualSubculturist muscle memory is not important at all here. you can jump around sensitivities and still perform well, switch around glide and perform the same. people in the aim communities have easily proven this and if you commit a lot of time to aim trainers as an example you'll quickly notice this as well. you can easily stay consistent between mousepads as well, what do matter though is if the mouse is grippable for your hand, and of course that the mouse won't spin out. give someone with 16x8 cm hands who regularly fingertips a mouse something big and heavy like a corsair glaive/Razer Naga and it will be hell. the good answer is to not disregard any peripheral, just make sure everything works well and don't disregard one the way mousepads have been for disregarded by many.

Optical mice were not popular until around the year 2000 in the 80’s they were extremely rare.
@BB-mt5no8 ай бұрын
Yes, that stuck out to me as well. Younger generations tend to not understand the way things were back then. Computers weren't even popular yet in the 80's. And using a mouse was rare since it was mostly command line input on a black screen with green text. So when the home PC became more common after Win 95 so people could log onto AOL, a cheap ball mouse did what most people needed. Around 2000, Microsoft came out with the Intellimouse. Even though it was considered a premium item, they still gained popularity quickly as people were tired cleaning out the ball compartment.
