The worst thing is like Texan country people from like Dallas or San Antonio who’ve straight up never touched a damn horse but they wear cowboy boots while they’re driving around their $500k truck they bought new with daddy’s oil money. Like the only possible redeeming qualities of country culture is when they actually work their asses off on a farm or some shit but lets be real the majority of the people in these memes just drive around pristine jeeps that they got as high school graduation gifts from their rich ass parents.

I’m from a place that identifies as southern and it hurts me to my soul that he says “If you’re from the south you probably don’t understand about not identifying as a boy or girl” It hurts for two reasons: 1: He is… right. So very very unfortunately right. 2: There are a lot of trans people hiding in the south, who can’t be themselves because of how backwards things still are here. :( But there are a lot of us more open minded people here too, who are trying so so hard to make a difference here, and at times, it feels so hopeless. It feels like a loosing battle most of the time, to be honest, but I also love my home and my farm, and my family and I like living in the woods and around all this beautiful nature and mountains, and having a back porch to sit on and be in all this country. But the hatred that is still so prevalent here, hurts my soul. I wish more country folks would try to be more like Dolly Parton. She is good example of who some of us would like to be like. :) So please know that not all of us spread that awful hate. Some of us want to make our neck of the woods a more loving and open space for everyone, our trans brothers and sisters and every non-binary person in between. We want to make it a place where all races are welcome too. We just need a little extra help down here sometimes, because not everyone is on board with us yet, but I really hope that will change soon.
