It gets me so mad when a person dissapears, their family and friends who KNOW them say it's out of the ordinary and cops are like "Oh no, it's just another case of X or Y".
@kimmy4714

@Trollgernautt yeah I know right, the immense frustration that families & friends must experience when they're up against an ignorant law enforcement agency pleading with police to take their missing persons report seriously & to get on to it immediately as each & every second that ticks by counts when beginning the search process to find & figure out what happened to their loved ones. Could you imagine being faced with such an awful predicament instructing police that it's absolutely out of the missing loved ones character only to have police who do not know the missing person's character, their behaviour & their daily habits to suggest something so incredibly insulting to the family members by saying that it's an obvious runaway or that they believe that family members are overreacting when reporting them to be missing under suspicious circumstances! Mind blowing 🤯, not to mention that the amount of missing persons that ended up as another missing statistics who, in actual fact, had police listened too valid concerns reported from family members while also undertaking an immediate investigation imagine just how differently the outcomes could have been for the many people who are reported missing every year? Funny how when it's a family member/child/friend that's reported missing who is associated to a member of police it results in the overdrive of law enforcement from different counties &/or states to link up resources to assist in the search & investigation process, which almost always results in a positive outcome for said victim. It's a shame that mere citizens don't get the same treatment.

Sometimes a family don't know someone as good as they think they do, so even though I agree that the family should be taken more seriously, it does happen that the family think something happened because "they would never do that" but they are doing exactly that and the family just don't know I say it out of my own experience, I have mental illnesses and even though I have a good relationship with my family and they know me well it still takes them months to realize it's acting up again

The Jameson case is truly weird, that photo of Madison has always bothered me. The fact that they left their dog behind in the truck along with $30,000 seems to say they expected to be back shortly. But they also had a lot of personal problems so that makes me think it was a murder/suicide, except for the fact that the gun wasn’t found near the remains. This is a strange one….🤷🏼‍♀️

Many years ago I read of a case where a man's body was found deep in the woods with a bullet hole in the temple. The man had suffered from mental health issues for a long time and had even attempted suicide once. But because the police didn't find a gun nearby, they determined it to be a homicide. The case went cold until 15 years later when developers were clearing that land to build apartments. They were knocking down trees when a worker found a. 38 caliber pistol with a bungee cord tied around the grip and slung over a branch about 10 feet up. The man apparently rigged his pistol, shot himself, and the bungee cord whipped the gun back up where it got lodged in the crux of two smaller branches. If only investigaters had looked UP.

Besides, with a balloon of that size, he could only have done that if he had a helium tank right there, and none was found in the vicinity. As a woman that lives in the same city Jennifer’s parents do, which is only about 30-40 minutes from Orlando/Kissimmee, this state is WILD with apartment complex workers/security guards/maintenance men that leer after women. At my first apartment, I had a guy knock on my door around 7 am very lightly and practically whispered “maintenance” when I asked who the hell he was through the door. He was not maintenance. They didn’t come (even for emergencies) until 9 am, because I had had an incident just a month prior where my kitchen flooded and they would not come out until 9 am, when the office opens. I’m lucky I was smart enough to both hesitate to answer even when being told it was “maintenance”, and that I knew already that they would not come out that early, or I would have opened the door without thinking. Who knows what could have happened. I think that’s what this person did, told her they were maintenance to get her to open the door. She does not seem like the type who wouldn’t think and would just open the door to a stranger while getting ready for work in the morning. They very likely did work for the complex, but under a subcontractor that was building or painting elsewhere on the property, where the construction was still ongoing.

When one combines the organic mental illness (delusions & ideas of reference associated with BPI & schizophrenia) with the suspected stimulant abuse, the result is about as fertile an environment for potential psychosis as one can imagine. Their final actions are equally probable as stimulant-induced psychosis _or_ organic psychosis; given that both were likely, the outcome is (sadly) unsurprising. Tragic any way you slice it, and indefensible given the involvement of kids. 😔

Some people do it multiple times! It's impossible for the police to pull out all the stops on every case - the only reason these cases are notable is because they DIDN'T turn up ok. I think that video has always been blown out of proportion. This was before everyone had cct on their property, so the video looks old, and also has no sound. It looks like a regular family packing up for a little vacation. I also think the video that was released wasn't the entire video, just the chopped up pieces of them going back and forth to the car. What I always wondered, how did they have so much money? Neither of them worked and were collecting funds from the government. And they never told anyone they planned, or had the money to purchase land. It's strange.

@@itsmackenzie Probably the most logical explanation would include all that money having something to do with their disappearance. In the video they mentioned he anonymously reported some meth lab, and that he didn't like drugs. But isn't that the perfect cover at the same time, a good samaritan reporting crimes and being against drugs. Maybe he had such contacts, produces or sold meth, and some rival dealer threatened him or heard the rumors that he was the guy who was reporting or whatever and got him and the family before they had a chance to leave. But it's all speculation at this point of course. Laziness and incompetence have nothing to do with it, by and large. Police have protocols they have to follow, either set by the state or their department. They get calls almost daily from people reporting a missing person, and usually that person turns up in a day or 2. Not always, but most of the time. Adults are allowed to take off and go wherever they’d like, whether their family knows about it or not. Police also get training, but they’re also people at the end of the day, and can make mistakes. You see how excited you are to go to a thankless and impossible job after years of dealing with nothing but the dregs of society, most of whom end up back on the streets no matter how hard you work to get them locked up. It’s real easy talking about how worthless other people are at a job when you’ve clearly never worked in that field and have no idea how hard it is to do, especially when you have zero evidence and nothing to go on besides someone telling you “this isn’t normal.”

That podcast has now become a favorite of mine. I wonder if he knows how perfectly he timed it with the mass cancellation from precast of their major hit crime podcasts now with only a few remaining as they get more lean financially. He literally overnight will gobble up a tremendously large and hungry audience as his show literally started the exact point true crime unsolved/solved, unexplained , etc all got cancelled. I’ve been meaning to email him for good measure. And his podcast seems like a whole other product than these which is always nice they aren’t just recycled stories. This isn’t Sean’s burner account or something lol I just love seeing the hustle of a disrupting creator vs major media house entities . And pound for pound his parity quality just from the writing alone.

Maybe Bobby was more worried about his wife being so deranged that the bullets for the gun to kill spirits in the house was for his wife instead. She even said her daughter was possessed, which you did unveil parts I hadn't even heard of before in this story, which is awesome. I think my theory is that the wife did it, she was convinced her daughter was a demon and had threatened her husband before, she convinced them to go out into the wilderness with tales of living off the grid but then revealed her true intent and forced the family out into the middle of nowhere - she may have had another means rather than a gun or knife to kill the both of them and then herself in sort of a ritual way. That's my theory. I feel sorry she even took her dog out in hopes he would die in the truck so to cover her tracks. I'm convinced it's her.

First time I've heard about Bobby, the father, being against drug use and also reporting a possible meth lab to the police before. Thats important info because many channels talk about the possible link of a drug deal going wrong. It doesn't completely exclude it but it does make it a less likely link along with the $$ being part of the situation. Interesting cases that imo will likely never be solved, the second one in particular. The first one might still get solved if they sadly find a the body of what at one point was Jennifer.

No gun at the scene of the Jameson's death is easy to explain. Sheri shot her husband and Madyson, laid them next to each other, got rid of the gun and shell casings (or she used a revolver so there were none), then took something to OD, laid next to them, and died. Or she only shot Bobby and gave Madyson the same thing she took. She had attempted suicide before, and very recently prior to their disappearance. It explains the note and why the money and dog were left in the vehicle - Bobby had every intention of coming back to the truck to get the dog and possibly put the money down for the land. He wouldn't have known Sheri's plan. And she had pulled a gun on somebody before, so she was obviously at least minimally comfortable with guns. For the video, perhaps she had tried to off them all by dosing them with something first, but it didn't work. That's why they were all spacy and why she ended up using the gun. Or perhaps too much is made of that video. They were odd folks in the first place, after all.

Having experienced a gas leak, yeah, everything about it said gas leak or carbon monoxide to me. and if you deal with that long enough, it's permanent damage, so it could continue after they left. with money problems like that it'd be easy for their house to not be up to code. I'm assuming the money was meant to buy the place they were looking at, and the death was the result of a disagreement on if they were going to or not.

That aside, I really get the feeling that meth was involved. I don’t think the family was using - their behavior in the footage isn't the same erratic, twitchy, hyper kind of thing you see with people who are high on meth - but they could've very easily gotten taken in to buy supplies for a manufacturer who got pissed for whatever reason.

I'm not saying this has anything to do with their deaths because I honestly think it could be a combination of factors, but the demons stuff stood out to me. As someone who was raised in a religion that took demons, possession, exorcisms, spiritual warfare very seriously, I wonder if that played a bigger role. Once demons are believed to be at play people can get really abusive really fast because the ends justify the means. Maybe not being able to find the property the first time made them think the demons wouldn't let them leave. Maybe they were in a self-induced trance when going back and forth to the car (I've seen people put themselves in trances a lot the results can be anything from motionlessness to running around screaming and everything in-between. It's odd behavior that can be likened to being high. Once you get used to doing it, you can put yourself in a state fairly easily whether intentional or not. Repetition like what's needed for exorcisms and spiritual warfare are one way of doing this.) Maybe they thought they escaped once out at the property only to have the daughter get tired and frustrated (my mom believed that any negative behavior/attitude was demonic). If they interpreted they're daughter's behavior the same way then they could have thought they would never escape except through death and a decision was made after they were there. The photo could be the proof of why in their minds. Again this is speculation and a bit dramatic, but I've heard enough stories of parents/people murdering because they think their kid/loved one's possessed and seen firsthand how people who think this way act to know it's not impossible. What I believe for certain is that they weren't in their right minds when they were out there as evidenced by all the trash they threw around the truck. While someone could have taken advantage of them, I lean toward it being them either getting lost or a murder-suicide (for whatever reason) probably by overdose (any drug is fatal when you take too much). I wish the state had removed the daughter when the son said he didn't feel safe in the home.

For the first case, I'll defend the cops a little bit. It's not surprising that they started with the ex boyfriend, boyfriend, and family. Statistically, they were following the odds. Even if another man abducted her, it would still be more likely that someone she knew was behind it (it's almost always someone the victim knows, random violence is very rare). They should have discovered the trunk scratches but if we're being honest, would it have made a difference? Probably not. Sadly.

People like to blame the police in cases of missing people but remember that they deal with missing person complaints all day long. 99/100 it's a domestic and the person wants to disappear on purpose. Depending on where you live the police are more occupied dealing with shootings and domestic disturbances which need immediate attention. If they're short staffed they're not going to waste a ton of time on an adult missing person who likely doesn't want to be found. When you deal with that day in and day out it makes you jaded. It sucks if you're the 1/100 who truly is missing or possibly harmed. As for them not following the video lead in the first story, generally the logical place to begin a missing person investigation is by interviewing the people closest to the missing. Especially when the video lead does not show a person's face at all. In some cities there are enough cameras where you could easily pick them up on another camera but if camera footage is limited then there is nothing to go on. On a side note, if the missing person is a child the police will drop everything to try and find them right away. Also, TV has mistakenly lead people to believe you need to wait 24 hours to report someone missing. That is not true and if someone is missing you need to report it immediately.

Always enjoy these tales of the dubious, the weird, and the plain old baffling. Kinda sucks so many have to vanish into thin air or outright die... often horribly... BUT that's not your fault of course. You always find a solid approach for weaving the details together to make some sense of the situation... GOOD JOB, and please carry on! AND... well... it might not be the most terribly frightening story... BUT you're inimitable style should give the right air of strange fascination to the mysterious navigational error of Douglas Corrigan's flight on July 17-18 1938... and how it earned him his infamous nickname. I know it's Halloween-time and all, and most storytellers are up for the most brutal and horrific they can find, but maybe a subtler dive into the mysteries that linger from aviation history could also be fun... AND if not, there's also ALWAYS "April Fool's Day" coming... haha ;o)

At which point would you write a hate letter? Isn't it bizarre she had that with her? Usually a hate letter means coming to an end with sth or someone, it means being done, it means letting go of what destroys you or to hurt someone rly badly. That family was full of mental problems and since Sheri spread her surroundings with paranoia, it might be not usual that this instability had cause their ends. She hated her husband, her daughter was a demon, lost the rights of Colton, her son, and being left is the dog, and probably her only friend? I believe she killed her husband and her daughter, on the phone is the last picture of her little girl, for memory, or rather a goodbye. She probably convinced them to go look around the forest a bit, to take some breath. The dog and money is still in the car, in the means of coming back "soon", in this case only Sheri. Maybe she planned to get rid of them and start a new life alone and with her dog. It might also explain why she dyed her daughters hair blonde, maybe she was paranoid to be easily identified by her looks (in case things go wrong, or captured by footage). They also abandoned everything to start a new life after all, it is a good start to get rid of traces actually, maybe she thought she could get away with all of it without much trouble. The only weird thing is HER death and the lack of a gun. But tbh who could shoot their own daughter? Since her daughter doesn't show any evidence of a hole in her body, and the one of the husbands is rather a questionable one, I rather assume they all were killed by substances or some sort of poison disguised as food or candy. The bodies are too far decayed to identify what was the cause, so this still stands as a possibility. And since Sheri has been diagnosed with bipolar and refused to take meds, there might have been a sudden switch in the forest, she probably felt extremely regretful and panicked after she realized what she had done. Her death might have been a suic*de act done after, a future plan gone wrong by a change of heart.

Apparently the 'hate letter' was done as a kind of therapy, where you vent all your emotions into it but wind up not giving it to the intended person, just to get it all off your chest really. If it was in her handbag (which I believe it was) it could have just remained in there from said therapy session and she hadn't gotten around to getting rid of it or forgot it was there - there's no statement on the condition of it either, could have been scrunched up forgotten at the bottom of the bag for all we know.

Well it’s possible since she’s diagnosed with bipolar & wasnt on treatment. I believed the cause of death would be poison/drugs too. I think they didn’t even test for it coz idk it might not be traceable anymore after 4 years. It’s the only way they could’ve been murder-suicide & lined up like they were asleep & never woke up again. Maybe she did shot Bobby but poisoned herself & Madison so she could’ve died ‘gently’ than being shot. Anyways it’s such a tragic story.

Okay, I have Bipolar disorder (and a severe case as I have been hospitalized for it several times) and you don’t switch anywhere near that quickly. Episodes last weeks or months, not hours. It also takes time for an episode to fully develop and I can tell my episodes are coming up days or even weeks ahead of time. Also to have psychosis that bad with bipolar disorder she would have to also have a severe presentation much like myself and that means she would have spent a significant amount of time in a psychiatric hospital starting in early adulthood. Severe bipolar disorder doesn’t emerge that late in life. Psychotic episodes are also nearly always mood congruent. So she would need to be in a depression for a psychosis such as this be caused by bipolar. Personally, as someone who has bipolar, who has multiple immediately family members with bipolar, and has several extended family members with bipolar (bipolar is hella genetic) this would be a very unusual presentation.

i think the simplest explanation for the second story is that while they were driving, one or both of the adults became convinced that they were in danger. they left the car in a hurry to get away, and they all died of exposure after getting lost. i don't think there needs to be some sinister outside element at play, or a meticulous murder-suicide plot. they could've just been planning to move off the grid and been tragically interrupted on their drive. (the only weird thing in this scenario is the picture of the daughter, but when you're not thinking clearly, you can do all kinds of counter-intuitive shit. or i guess one of the parents could have taken it to reassure her that this was just a fun family outing and not a desperate flight from danger?) sadly, we'll never know what happened for sure.

People dying of exposure generally don't end up right next to each other, and they'd have quite likely brought the dog. Considering no evidence of drug abuse, I think it's quite likely between that a person or group with malicious intent beckoned them from the side of the road, or one of the parents lead a murder-suicide mission.

@@PoochieCollins nor do small holes magically appear in skulls. It's very clear the adults were psychotic, the wife more so. And i don't think someone with malicious intent would not search their vehicle and take the 30k in cash.

Good video. I knew I head the story of the disappearance of the Jameson family before at another KZbin channel which goes by the name "Chilling Scares".

I've heard about the Jamison case before, but I didn't know about the graffiti on the shipping container or the hate letter! It's also a bit haunting that it's October 8 today...
