2 extras with speaking parts at the helm in 1 scene. Wish we got more of that, makes the show more believable as a "lived in" universe.

The notion that everyone on the bridge is fully qualified at every position is unrealistic. Other than the Captain, First Officer, and maybe Ops Officer, Most of the other officers are only qualified at a few stations.
@user-ly3mw4yq7g2 ай бұрын
@kevinm.8682 sure, but my point is that I think having crew at the helm who don't speak for an entire episode despite have orders given to them makes the show less realistic. How would that fly in real life not responding to a senior officer.
@develynseether44262 ай бұрын
@kevinm.8682 fully? Of course not but in the navy majority of bridge crews that have officer status, even junior like Ensign, are trained to handle basic functions of all stations in an emergency, certainly enough to get by.

The Tyken's Rift should have been presented as a more serious physical threat. Large loads like warp drive were the first to be drained, but eventually life support and even Commander Data were affected.

Also it shouldn't have taken Commander Data 10 whole days to analyze the situation and determine what the hell is going on.

@@blastermasterguy Data isn't infallible, he doesn't have the entire knowledge of every single scrap of information. The Enterprise-D memory core was 630,000 kiloquads (For reference it's been determined 1,000 exabyte (1 million terabytes) is a quad and 1,000 quads is a kiloquad which in turn is 1 trillion terabytes so 630,000 kiloquads is about 630,000 trillion Terabytes Data's storage capacity was about 100 Petabytes or 100,000 Terabytes. The show only made it seem like he knew everything and could do everything. (Side note, I'd like to think Data got 'upgraded' over time. An isolinear chip from 2360's could hold the equivalent of 2.15 trillion Terabytes so even that chip had a bigger memory than a human sized computer built 30 years earlier, sounds familiar?)

1. What detained Worf? 2. Why wasn't Data's power systems also drained?
@rizwansyed47042 ай бұрын
His skull is a duratanium alloy, presumably could have given him some energy dampening or shielding, as he seemed to be more resilient to phaser fire although not completely immune to vast energy overloads. Also think of it as a drain on shields first which were being fed by the warp core which couldn't sustain enough energy to continue to go to warp because all of it was being consumed. Once all energy barriers are expended, then invevitably life support would've failed and then data would've likely been affected.

Worf was starting to lose control of his mind. He probably was in his room trying to meditate, or possibly even considering suicide at this early moment. Troy can already sense something is wrong with him. That's why she approaches him later.
