I also have only a few close friends so I'd say to let things flow in their own way. If you really want more friends, you can try to go out more (like a walk in the park or to a bakery) so you can come across more people. If you are looking for more specific types of people (let's say you're an artist and you want more artist friends) try to get yourself to places you know those people will be at (following my old example, you can go to art galleries, post your art on social media, go to art classes). At the end of the day, it's completely fine to have only a few people in your life, as long as you're happy with where you're at!
