I remember this was a really good album. I love the Cure. I might be wrong, but I think "Fascination Street" was on this album

Great reaction and description. You’re definitely ready for Depeche Mode’s “Home”‘ now :-)

Disintegration is pretty much like this the whole way through. It was my zone-out album in high school, and still serves that purpose from time to time since.

Can’t hear this now without remembering how this was playing on Ant-Man’s phone the first time he shrank 😂

In the live versions of this song I've seen is Simon Gallup (bass guitar) doing the licks instead of a guitar and it sounds really cool too. I remember the first time I listened to this album, starting off with Plainsong and I thought oh this is going to be a good one, and it was from first to last.

Tre I've been watching you for a long time now, I think by now I've come to terms with this weird thrill I feel that someone so far away enjoys the same music I enjoy. Anyway, the word majestic really sums this up! Hugs from Chile.

Love this song thanks. Smith has written 10x more hooks than he gets credit for but the one on Prayers For Rain is the one that sticks with me

I'm interested in your take on the guitar bars in The Cure's track "Hot Hot Hot". Hyper rhythm work that borders on lead that is layered throughout. "All I want" has some dirty guitar work - love it too.

A) You should do yoga. It's where all the cute girls are. B) Your description of this song as a 'secret world' is so accurate -- it's such a dreamy, moody piece, and sets the tone for the whole 'Disintegration' album, one of those just-about-perfect albums that comes together as more of a 'mood piece' than a concept. It's worth revisiting for those who haven't listened in a long time.
