I really like the Clefairy in-game event in Crystal. The Pokemon come out on a Monday, or "Moon Day," gather in a place under the moonlit sky, and get really, uh, Moon Stoned. It's that deep lore that made the world feel alive around you. Hey, you know what would be cool? Doing a "Stone Only" playthrough in Crystal! They have so many stones in the game and so many Pokemon that evolve with them, it could be fun!

Events that took place on particular days of the week felt revolutionary in Gen 2 and made revisiting areas feel much more worth it. I remember when one kid a school found the Friday Lapras in Union Cave and the rest of us had to wait nearly a week to confirm whether or not he was making it up

Clefairy and the Moonstone was one of the episodes I watched a lot as a kid. I love seeing them continually reference that lore in Legends and Teal. It’s something from childhood that continues to lives on in Pokemon for me.

I was surprised catching this event randomly when I played as a kid. Didn’t have a Pokémon with rock smash so I missed out. When I rushed to the Pokemon Center to get one I came back to nothing and had no clue how to get this to trigger again 🥺

Moments like these make me wish they fleshed out more unique properties with little cutscenes/interactions. At least for pokemon that don’t get as much attention. Like Absol being an omen of disasters for example.

Actually there's a bit of environmental storytelling in some of the games that reinforces Absol's lore as an omen of disaster. It appears on the summit of Mt. Coronet in Platinum, referencing the impending disaster of Team Galactic's scheme. It also appears in the Giant Chasm in Unova, perhaps alluding to Lacunosa town's fear of Kyurem or the Neo Team Plasma plot.

It was pointed out in a ORAS retrospective I watched, but Absol might be used as foreshadowing in the Hoenn games. It's Sapphire Pokedex entry reads: *ABSOL has the ability to foretell the coming of natural disasters. It lives in a harsh, rugged mountain environment. This POKéMON very rarely ventures down from the mountains.* And you find it in Route 120,, which is not a harsh rugged mountain, so it's there unnaturally. It's a bit of foreshadowing for the evil team plot, since that picks up around that time.

I think it's a concept that they could only have done in Gen 1 with yellow version. Every other Gen 1 mainline game was produced before the Anime released, and the Clefairy got expanded on

theres one reference to Clefairy being from the moon in the games. In the sinnoh games Jupitar is holding a clefairy and bunnery hostage. The bike shop owner quotes a galatic grunt saying that he said clefairy came from space.

I remember this event for the Clefairy, but even more so because I read the sign and I had never seen the word "litter" before so I went to check a dictionary and was amazed because my favorite game had taught me a new word lol (English is my second language and I guess that word wasn't at a level for a 3rd grade English class lol)

Bc I was still in my “tomboy” phase (pre-transition) when I first played this game as a kid, and very much “ew, to anything cute”, when I first found this scene, I lost my mind when I stumbled upon this and thought it was the cutest thing ever, and thought of how my friends would have clowned me for finding this cute, so I literally never told them I found this or that it happened in the game, so it felt like my fun lil secret 😂

I remember finding out this event naturally when playing Pokémon Silver all the way back as a kid and I liked it enough, but didn't pay much attention to it (never knew the rock would leave behind an invisible Moon Stone btw). But later in life, in my teenage years playing Heart Gold I once again came across this event naturally and seeing it again instantly pulled me back to my childhood and brought so much joy to me that to this day it is one of my favorite little events in Pokémon, made all the way more special with the nod in Legends Arceus

Never did this event, the first and only time i played a "gen 2" game was with HGSS around 6 months ago (Currently making my first playthrough through every Pokémon game, recently i'm playing OR, the first remake i play as a remake), it was a thuesday when i got there, i knew this event existed but didn't bothered to go see it (i mean, i could have changed the clock but i'm stupid so i didn't)

Well the reason Poke Dolls are shaped like Clefairy is because... it's literally in the name. Poke Dolls in Japanese are called "Clefairy Dolls". They have to shape it as a Clefairy for this reason. But I agree it's a cool reference to sell that on Mt Moon, it makes sense.

Clefairy is such a cool Pokemon and it's and fairy type connection to the moon is very interesting. I would personally love more lore about the moon in the Pokemon universe, i think there could be very some very cool things to learn about it.

Moon in Gold, it by chance happened to be a Monday night, and I got this event Didn't know it was scripted by day of the week, just thought it was something that happened the first time you went to Mt. Moon Never saw the event in Silver or Crystal, and never got it again in Gold, for a while thought I dreamed it
