Agree, but also greater individualism needs to be promoted within Japan. The "group harmony" mindset is why (from the stories in this video) some girls go along with it. I cannot see women in my home country being so submissive to such an obviously exploitive situation just so that "all these people don't get upset". So the take away is: make sure young people are not so naïve and make sure young people think about what they want to do, and not what others want them to do.
@Ashursardan

Good point. That group mindset is admirable and useful in some aspects, but in the type of situations referenced in the video it is a great disadvantage, indeed.

Its scary, sometimes they literally gang up on you. My little sister was on a school trip in Harajuku with her friends (grade 11) and she was approached by 5 guys who basically cornered her and told her that she could earn some extra cash for "souvenirs to take back home" as they were able to tell from her uniform that she's not from Tokyo. Lucky she had her iPhone on here and was quickwitted enough to hit the "find Iphone" button on her own device and initiate the loud beeping sound. It both alerted me - who was interning at a nearby robotics company that someone had triggered the find iphone alert, as well as scare the guys. I'm not too sure what happened after as I try to avoid asking her about the incident, but I excused myself from work and found her quite shaken up. I'm sure she hasn't forgotten it even 3 years later now.

I've been learning Japanese language for a while and I deeply understand about what the first woman meant by "very hard to say no psychologically". Their culture shapes the people into extremely agreeable people. They have a mindset that "I shouldn't give others any sort of hard/uncomfortable feeling", that's one of the fundamental goals in communication and social interaction, and it could be dangerous in some situations. There's even some grammar points where you learn to say no without literally say no.

I took a photo of one pestering and giving cards and went to a big police station nearby to report it. While I couldn't understand 100% of their explanation, the gist was they couldn't do anything as they weren't doing anything illegal. The problem of porn in Japan isn’t women who give in to porn recruiters, it’s the male dominated society that conditions every generation into believing that women have to submit to men, to their husbands, to their fathers, to their uncles, to their grandfathers, to their families, to cultural expectations that women be “the pillar of the family” to spend their lives raising children or building and maintaining a home. Women and men aren’t taught about porn growing up, they aren’t taught that masturbation is normal and healthy. Japanese society is obsessed with shame, having it, fearing it, avoiding it, and dealing it out when someone “is deserving” of it.

The police are probably paid by the Yakuza gang who run the sex exploitation industry in Japan. If a girl is being harassed, of course the police can do something. So when you see a woman in porn tear up or say she is fine and likes it, keep in mind she is likely saying she wants to stop, being coerced into continuing with the sex act, and pretending to be fine with it so that the directors get the shots they want and end the ordeal sooner than later.

As someone who once got addicted porn, I'm glad that the part on the end focused on how the people who are in porn don't do it consensually. I'm sure many of the porn addicts don't realise this. Remember that, if you are trying to quit, you won't only be helping your mental health, but also be one person closer to have no one watching porn. And once no one watches porn, it will cease to be profitable, meaning women will stop being abused in this way. I know it is really hard to stop watching it. I felt horrible and regretful for 2 years, and from time to time I still do feel regret of my actions of my past. But a great way to start will be to start meditation, exposing yourself to the outside world and doing productive activites, like building your self defense by going to a gym or MMA, washing up or doing something to earn money. Remember, the less people who watch porn, the less women will have to go through this horrible experience.

Speaking as a man who was nearly recruited into the industry, I can see that there is a fundamental need for Japan to update some behavioral norms, such as the unwillingness to walk out of a shoot that was not previously explained as adult content. Groupism and the potential for shame need to be pushed aside. A former film participant should be able to find a good job based on talent and abilities. The idea that the companies care about the past adult content work of a secretary is moronic. Honestly, some of the social norms of Japan have not changed for a century, and it is well overdue that individualism becomes a virtue in 2022.

It short there is no legal studios that you are saying would be on underground. Why legal studios would be on the underground if they are legal in the first place. Underground means they are hiding to the government, just like deep dark web. In deep dark web u can buy drugs or buy a person without the government knowing. Maybe what you are saying are small studios and if so they are not illegal. People are more likely to watch uncensored porn which those illegal studios does so well in sales this is when the legal studios or companies have to face. Using an av actress inside japan and doing operations outside japan would be still illegal, why because the company or staff are still in the laws of japan. In my situation, even after some of the victims pursued a lawsuit, the man involved just hired lawyers who claimed the women were lying to receive financial compensation. I am relieved to hear that some of these women in Japan received better representation, but also saddened to hear that the actions of this new agency have not been as effective as hoped. Thank you again for drawing attention to this issue. One immediate thing I would suggest is to incentivize women teaching each other to watch out for this as well as buying personal alarms to deter these assholes who use intimidation and peer pressure tactics. Spreading more awareness and incentivizing education in self defence should help mitigate this but unfortunately as I've only done surface level theorizing and research into this I'm afraid that this is a stop-gap solution that I have so far A critical step is to educate children as when they become teenagers-adults these are the most susceptible to underhanded exploitation tactics similar to pyramid schemes I've encountered here in America

And what of those who won't enter into the agreement by the lawyers? The one guy did say that the smaller companies made up of 2-3 people who don't have the budget still are out there. I interview tons of people from the industry and they are very open. Please feel free to check out my channel! Also if anyone’s wondering how consent forms go in Japan: In Japan we have to consent to everything on camera while reading the entire contract out loud and signing it. If we don’t, we don’t even get to film. If the studio doesn’t have that video with the person consenting and reading/signing the form, they can’t produce the film. There is also a contact information form on every contract with groups like the AV Human Rights Organization listed. We also have to complete a check sheet stating that we weren’t coerced, we are aware this is an AV film, and so forth. If you don’t consent, you don’t film. However I will say: My positive experiences don’t negate the experiences people who were literally r*ped. I am absolutely for protecting women from being harmed and exploited like this. I can have a good experience and still stand up for those who were exploited, we don’t live in a vacuum.

As a young man this happened to me. A man approached me to do a photos. He was a big man came across as a legit photographer and had an established studio. Long story short things got weird and I had defend myself. I’m a big guy so I was able to keep from being a victim. I don’t think if I was petite girl the outcome would have been the same. Bottom line weirdos don’t just target women.

I despise rape with all my heart, mind and soul. Yes some may say that family should teach their sons and daughters about the consequences of porn, about laws and how to fight peer pressure, still I blame a lot the education system. Even with laws like “being able to change your mind after 14 days signing the papers” ppl still fall for the cash. What are you suggestions? How do we fight this so our daughters and sons don’t fall into that? Of course videos like these should be shown and shared a lot yet I feel like there’s more we can do.

There's no way to directly fight the porn industry, but in my opinion it is just a symptom of a larger problem. We need better policing and more job opportunities for young women so that they don't have to resort to sex work, which is often a last resort

EDIT: Why when I was watching this I was recommended the Anime Man watching hentai? I'm not even subbed to him! This is why I wish porn wasn't a thing. Like you have people obsessed with it. Then you have others who use it to exploit others for money because sex is just a thing that's almost impossible to turn off with the average person so it's always in demand and desired. Then you have people who hold others in a stereotype, i.e. women are easy to please, 'all keys work in a lock' mentality, etc.

I like that there is porn though. I don't like the idea of it being illegal. That'd segregate people in two groups. The ones that watch it illegally and the ones that don't do it, find it interesting though and it gets more and more of a taboo-topic. Of course, the criminal actions shown by this video are horrible and the people who did this to the women should be charged for it. But I don't think making porn illegal would be a good thing to do. Also, "obsession" can be found in various areas. Gambling, alcohol, drugs, and many other things. I think these are obsessions that are far more dangerous. Just google how many people die each year because they're driving while being drunk. That doesn't mean I wanna talk down those victims adressed by Nobita. But completely making porn illegal worldwide wouldn't be the solution. Not to mention that it's unrealistic in the times of the internet to actually abolish it. (I'm against that disgusting stuff without people's consent though. Don't get me wrong)

The existence of porn as a media isn't the issue as long as everything is written and clarified as fiction and no personal rights are harmed. Everyone should be allowed to leave the business at any possible time. On the other side there's exploitation of sex workers and illegal human trafficking which should be abolished in all circumstances. Japan's prostitution and porn industry is often managed by Yakuza clans and that's why authorities won't take action. So we need to raise further awareness and safe victims from abuse.

@@Lee-lm2bn I would say it needs to be taken into for the entire world to end the exploitation of sex workers and illegal human trafficking. In order for that to work. Since if someone is willing to pay for it, someone is willing to provide it. This needs to be a cultural change for the entire world. Where illegal porn no longer being desired would be the ultimate goal.

I have a question : I notices that often men's face is either hidden or censored with mosaic too in some videos, I think that's it's a red flag of something illegal going on and I avoid these videos. Why would they hide their face if they are "actors" ? And never hers ? However I wonder if it's really a good technique to avoid non-consensual porn, is there guy showing their faces, thinking that they can't be sued because of that so-called "contract" ?

Japan is my biggest pet peeve wrapped up in a country of 100 million people. This issue is just another example of how the whole, “don’t rock the boat" or the, "preserve the harmony" mentality is destroying Japan. “I can’t say no because that would cause a conflict, and conflict causes disharmony". Thank you Nobita-San. After seeing all your positive videos about porn I've been wanting you to do the negative side of it as well. Porn is the perfect example of just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. I still think generally speaking porn is overlooked/downplayed. Some don't realize how addictive it is like any other drug. How it destroys lives/relationships, and how dangerous it can be for the people in the industry regardless of the country. That and of course the fact that it's degrading and perverts sex. Thanks for shining a light on this, and hopefully it helps those battling porn addiction to help them start to see through the lying fantasy that it is.
