Thanks for doing the leg work on this Darren. I have been using the telemetry on both my 2.4 and 900 redundant receivers at the same time without any issues. I think I may have been one of those comments you spoke of. Nice to have a definitive answer, Thanks again 👍

At the point of making that video, the past advice had been only use telemetry on the master receiver. But afterwards I spoke to FrSky and they confirmed the telemetry rules on all systems. ACCESS can have telemetry on with all receivers. ACCST can only have telemetry on the master receiver. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2ackpxtqL90Z6c

Great work Darren. Your tutorials have been invaluable. 🤗 Question on the ramnit virus which has been found in the original X20 flash drive on some txs. Is it ok to format the tx flash? This would remove any infection and leave it clean for the latest download? Many thanks Robin 😊

Hi Darren, thanks for this video. I have a question re telemetry while using 2 independent Rx's. I have an Archer R4 controlling rudder, eleveator and throttle. I also have an Archer GR6 controlling 6 wing servos. These are not providing redundancy but acting independently. Everything I want in terms of servo function is perfect but I want to be able to use the altitude & vario sensors of the GR6 and the ADC2, for battery voltage, of the R4. When I look at the Tx telemetry page I can see the sensors, and, within each sensor, it indicates which receiver this relates to but this is greyed out and so cannot be changed. I'm currently running Ethos 1.4.13.

Hello Mr. D, I came across your channel and this video while googling for info on the possibility to receive telemetry data by 2 independent devices (on the ground). I did not find it in this video on the redundancy topic (guess google brought me here because you discuss telemetry issues when configuring redundant receivers). First device is the RC (a TX16S which is bound/tuned with a R-XSR using ACCST). And 2nd a PC to capture and record the telemetry. Does such USB dongle for receiving telemetry on a PC exist for FrSky telemetry? And how would one set it up to listen on the telemetry transmission between the RC and R-XSR? Thank you!
@MrD2 жыл бұрын
You would not be able to do this using another transmitter connected to the PC. You can only bind one transmitter to the receiver. The two options that may be worth looking at are transferring the telemetry from the transmitter to the PC via Bluetooth or WiFi. The other option would be a separate telemetry system. Something like BulletGCSS may be just what you’re looking for.

Hello Mr. D, thank you so much for your suggestions (I'm only recently joining RC country and have a large "technical debt"). I found references about a BT module for the "hobby" RC TX16S I have (I was afraid such WiFi/BT options would only be available in professional RC equipement). And your BulletGCSS suggestion made me search for LTE inside the Ardupilot documentation. There I found the "Redundant Telemetry Links" topic!

Hey Daron, I have the x20s and a TDR10 receiver. I would like to put 3 sensors. GPS, Lipo Voltage, and the Vario sensors. Can I piggy back all three on that 1 receiver TDR10? Also,..... If that works.... can I have a second model and before powering up, swap all three sensors to the second model and it work easily or would they have to be bound each time? Both models have the TDR10
@MrD Жыл бұрын
Yes, the sensors will daisy chain. Each sensor has 2 connections for the SmartPort/FBUS wire. So connect a wire from the receiver to the first sensor, then from that sensor to the next sensor, and keep going. So long as all the sensors are different types, you shouldn’t have any issues. Sensors of the same type will have the same ID. Sure, I don’t see why you couldn’t swap the sensors between the planes. They don’t bind. You just discover the sensors on the telemetry screen. Once discovered, they will stay there. They should even stay there if you don’t connect the sensors up. Of course that part of the telemetry won’t work. But next time they’re plugged back in, it will work again.

Hi Darren, A question. Is it possible to have an R-XSR running ACCST as the slave receiver giving redundancy to a TDR10 running Ethos from an X20? I'm guessing not as the TDR10 sort of has redundancy built in with the 2.4 and 900 frequencies. ? Thanks E.
@MrD2 жыл бұрын
It isn’t because unless you use an external transmitter module. The redundancy receiver on the internal module would need to use the same protocol as the master receiver. In this case, Tandem.

Recently upgraded to ethos with x10 horus. Can't get telemetry from v 1 redundancy bus and redundancy bus 10. Can only see telemetry from rx but the sensors of bus are not detected. Using rxsr main rx and xm+ conected in both. Accst v2.

I Randall. To be honest I’ve no experience with the RB30. Have you tried using the SxR tools with the RB30? From the manual, the set up looks identical. Maybe the tool works on ETHOS, so the developers didn’t duplicate the functionality?

@@MrD Im using X20 radio and cant configure anything on rb 30 are they not compatible? Only thing that shows up on the radio in device configuration is rb30 base configuration and that doesn't allow you to do anything except set a voltage setting no configurational stabilization nothing.Any ideas
@MrD2 жыл бұрын
They should be. There is a specific setup tool for the RB30/40. On the same page as that tool, there are SxR Calibration and SxR setup tools. You may find they work with the RB30. I’ve seen in groups that people are using the RB30 with the X20.

Thanks Daren. Enabling telemetry on both 2.4. ghz and 900 mhz. works just fine on the X20-S. The display shows both and issues alarms on each ,separately, should an issue arise.
@MrD2 жыл бұрын
Yes the frequency doesn’t matter. It’s the protocol that defines the rules. ACCESS can bind with telemetry enabled for all receivers.

BTW Frank, please don’t think I’m ignoring or deleting some of your comments. KZbin has a habit of removing a lot of comments it thinks is breaking their community guidelines, but I really don’t believe are. Your last few comments, I’ve seen the first sentence, clicked to view the comment and reply. But the next screen just shows no comment found. KZbin’s bot has deleted it. It’s most frustrating.

@@MrD Thanks Daren .On the issue with the "Self Check". I rolled back the firmware to see if there would be a difference. No luck. I have ordered four of the SR8Pro receivers to see how these will respond. I'm beginning to think that this is a firmware issue. The same problem has appeared on my other three SR10Pro receivers.

The last comment you sent was instantly removed again Frank. I’ll contact KZbin again. But last time they didn’t help. They insisted that it went against community guidelines, when I could tell it was a technical question.

If I use 2 G-RX8 is it possible to use more than 8 servos connected, connecting to both RX PWM outputs?
@MrD Жыл бұрын
Depending on how many servos you need. The better option may be to set up the G-RX8 to output SBUS. Then use an SBUS to PWM converter to access channels 9-16.
@cmtetaboaco Жыл бұрын
@@MrD I need 10, do t want to mess with extra stuff, to keep simple if it’s possible to connect 2 G-RX8 in redundancy and use the slave receiver PWM ports wold be nice, is it possible? Thanks
@MrD Жыл бұрын
Actually, using the SBUS to PWM converter would be simpler than using 2 receivers. There are also the issues that if you lose one receiver, you’ll lose half the channels. So there’s no redundancy there. With the converter, you can use up to 14 channels. Usually it would be 16. But to use SBUS with the G-RX8, you lose 2 outputs on the receiver. Unless, I’m thinking of the old receiver. The glider receivers have very similar names.
@cmtetaboaco Жыл бұрын
@@MrD I understand, so is it possible? I’ll try both approaches, just want to be sure before buying 2 RX, I’ll get 2 RX and the converter, I have a XSR, if I go for the converter I’ll go with XSR as slave, thanks

It is possible with 2 receivers. But better not to.

Hi mate , Can you use the Tandem x20 to Accu Rc? Thanks
@MrD2 жыл бұрын
If that’s the heli sim, I don’t see why not. The X20 will connect to the computer via the USB cable. Then it just behaves as a joystick. Where the USB comes out the top, it doesn’t get in the way as you’re using it. Plus, it charges the X20 while you’re in the sim. I use my X20S with sims, and it works great.
