(Short story about my favorite memory of seeing TDWP live) i love The Devil Wears Prada, I’ve only seen them live twice, got to talk to the clean vocalist/guitarist (Jeremy DePoyster) both times after their shows! (Also got a picture with him both times) Great bunch of guys and are down to earth. The first time i saw them live was just before covid (2019 Nebraska), my all time favorite concert memory. I was not aware i was standing next to their tour bus, i was just talking to other fans and boom, mike the lead vocalist was right in front of us no security no body guards. I was in totally awe for about a few seconds till i realized everyone started swarming him asking for a autograph and to take pictures with him. I shouted at everyone with my whole chest to back up and give him space, i said more shiii after that but i can’t remember. Regardless everyone got quiet and looked at me including Mike, i could tell he was exhausted and was trying to be nice to everyone but the man was carrying equipment and trying to get on the bus. He told everyone to give him 15 minutes and he would be back. Buddy came back 5 minutes later 😅 and said “Alright who wants to ask me a question or take a picture/autograph?” Everyone looked at me again like i was his bodyguard, thinking back on it now that situation was funny af! Me a 6ft black guy almost 300 pounds (at the time) I responded ”he asked y’all a question don’t look at me, im just a fan like you guys.” I wasn’t going to take a picture with him because of everything that happened but then he looked at me and asked if i wanted one, so i said sure! He thanked me for earlier and put his arm around me to take a picture. I still felt like he was tired and just wanted to relax. i handed my phone to a fan and they told us to say “cheese”, but instead i said “Metal” and Mike just bursted out a laugh that put a genuine smile on his face! Next thing ik im talking to Jeremy for the second time that night and we were vibing when i heard behind me “say cheese!” And Mike responding with “Metal!” I’ll never forget that night!

Listen to whole “with roots above and branches below” LP, and you’ll recognize why there are few views on the video… it’s a masterpiece… after 8:18 they changed their style… But eventually the band is good! always love them! So you don’t lie when you say you haven’t listened to such bands? I can’t believe tbh You listened to other music styles in the past?

Because the TDWP I grew up with is not the same band when they started out. Even by 2009 they had changed already and didn't exactly sound the same. When the EP came out they were headed in a different direction. Same for a lot of underground bands. They started merging dub step style sounds or more technical playing into their music and it killed a lot of bands really Because it all sounded the same and then Motionless in White just came out of the wood work and laid the smack down.
