This is great! Remember in the 50’s, whites and blacks sharing the stage was unheard of. We have come a long ways!

They embraced their cultures in such as way to bring all together. Fats Domino, Motown, Do-Wop, ripping down walls but with flavour of their own experiences and influences.

This is my favorite recording of them. I discovered this song in middle school and fell in love with it. I now have my own doo wop group with 3 amazing guys as my backup vocalists, and we do this song :)

Nice that they acknowledged Maurice Williams and had him participate and then did his own version at the end.

I grew up listening to this song along with tons of mid to late 1950’s songs at my grandparents house ever since I was a toddler. Sadly my grandfather is no longer alive, he passed away back in September unexpectedly to a stoke, but he introduced me to some great catchy timeless tunes. :’) (This was one of his top favorite songs.)

About 1995 or so My wife and I went to an oldies show in Desmoines and the Diamonds were the main act. They came out and opened with this song and then other 50's artists came out and did a couple of songs each. Then at the end of the night, the final act was the Diamonds that sand Lil' Darlin again. They sang the one song twice. On the way home I told my wife we were privileged to hear the Diamonds sing a medley of their Greatist Hit.

My folks didn’t even listen to this, nobody has even the foggiest of ideas of why i love this music, but i just take it in by the album.

I was just thinking the same thing I dont think they could sing like this een if they wanted. Most of todays singers cant sing without help the difference between album and live is unbelievable. To hit the notes these guys do takes talent Im only 30 and still listen to doowop or stuff from the 50 up to the 90s its just amazing how much its changed. When they started to sell looks rather than talent.

Used to listen to this one & all the other tunes of the day in the mid-50's...had an Arvin 8 transistor radio that played off c cell batteries....would stick that in the snowbank of our homemade skating rink in the side yard of our home in northern MI...skate w/ girls, play hockey or just hang out...temps approaching -10 sometimes...batteries would not last that long in those temps...but what a song...what a time...!!
