Botox and fillers are both popular cosmetic treatments used to enhance appearance, but they work in different ways. Botox, short for botulinum toxin, is a neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes muscles, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, particularly on the forehead, around the eyes (crow's feet), and between the eyebrows. On the other hand, fillers, typically made of hyaluronic acid or collagen, are injected beneath the skin to add volume, smooth wrinkles, and restore youthful contours, often used in areas like lips, cheeks, and nasolabial folds. While Botox targets muscle movement to reduce wrinkles, fillers physically plump and fill lines and hollows. Both treatments are minimally invasive and offer temporary results, usually lasting several months to a year, depending on the individual and the specific product used.
