The greatest episode I've watched for you man! I used to search for people think about these relationship topics on different platforms. And you gathered here a lot of relationship wisdom from the right people to hear from. Thanks a lot!

I appreciate the guests and topics that you covered in this podcast. I am a huge fan of Matthew Hussey and The Gottmans. The other guests that were on, I have never experienced before. I wish that their names were posted in the description. There were quite a few takeaways that sank in. I liked the idea of prom date vs. life partner analogy to discern compatibility. Something else that resonated with me was body positioning while communicating during conflict. It can be intimidating to discuss conflict face to face(however, in some cases it’s culturally/societally appropriate for intimacy.). I can appreciate how it can bring down the intensity of emotion and reduce the frequency of emotional “flooding”(termed by Dr.s John and Julie Gottman. I’ve learned it as triggered From The M.A.N.D.T. System, from Maslow.). I also appreciate the idea of together-alone time. I value my independence and the freedom being able to do my own thing while being in the presence of my partner. I also think that it is critical to establish quality time(the amount of time depends on the stage of relationship and current living situation.) to maintain a quality connection.

I love “The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work: A Practical Guide” by John Gottman. It made me reevaluate my marriage and how I approach my wife through different aspects of marriage.

Bare minimum: I wish men would brush their teeth and take a shower. This is my latest assumption after several dates

What does a committed relationship even mean? For example, if a man turns up to support his partner going through cancer treatment but doesn't want to be married, is he committed? If a man is willing to plan dates, offer space for his partner to explore her emotions, and make her feel valued and seen, but he doesn't want to live with her in a shared home, is he committed?

If you have questions about it, it might mean he is not.

Don't take advice from minute 19. From someone who's been on zoom often there's so much that gets lost in translation over video call you might just ruin the chances for both of you. In addition, do test people. If you are not genuinely asking for a video call, don't ask for this to gauge their reaction. That's testing and healthy people will bail the moment they pick up this
