Without Jokic on the field, the Nuggets are the worst team in NBA history by offense rating. With him, they become the best in history. I don't see how anyone other than Jokic could deserve MVP given that.

The funny part is that Jokic doesn't give a damn about individual awards.
@JovicaMilutinovicАй бұрын
Not only for awards but also for statistics, last season he had 20 games where he missed the triple double by one assist or one rebound. What Jokic is playing this season is incomparably his best season, the problem is that Jokic's teammates are completely lethargic.

@@NikolaTesla1389; Поздрав. Regards from Serbia 🇷🇸 He doesn't obey to the media circus 😅 It is weakness 😆
@JFImageryАй бұрын
@@NikolaTesla1389I’m a Nugs fan, but he’s not perfect. He’s not great at drop coverage and he doesn’t provide rim protection. But when you consider that he’s really a hybrid rather than just a center, those weaknesses kind of fall away. Especially if you can get role players that can provide what he’s missing. All players have weaknesses. Joker has worked hard to minimize his, and he’s better every year, which I respect most about him as a person and a player.
@PASH3227Ай бұрын
KCP is a great example on why loyalty is a double standard. We criticize All Stars for not staying loyal to teams while never criticizing teams staying loyal to vital role players. As a Lakers fan I hate that we didn't hold onto essential pieces like Caruso and KCP. I'm sure Bucks fans have a similar frustration with Jrue Holiday. But Joker might be so good that he can carry this team to the finals like LeBron in 2018. Great video!

I'm a Denver fan. I agree with your criticism of the team. They have a major depth problem. Jamal Murray makes me angry on a nightly basis. MPJ can be great, especially when he hustles. Without Jokic he was averaging around 24 points. He became the best player. We also suck at defense so much. Joker is surprisingly good at defense. He'll just step in front of the person who's about to shoot and they'll miss like seventy percent of the time if they're close to the rim (except bigs). Its crazy because he doesnt really do anything. Last point, if Denver can figure a few things out they can win another chip. Last season theyvwon every game against the Celtics because Kristaps can't defend Jokic for his life.
@JovicaMilutinovicАй бұрын
MPJ is completely useless defensively, and Jamal is no better either. That's why every offense of the teams that play against Denver attack the space between Jokic and MPJ or directly on Jaml because they don't see him as a competitive player, even undrafted players like Pippen Jr. who beat him one on one in two games.
@TheBuffaloFlatsАй бұрын
@JovicaMilutinovic when MPJ hustles, he will break out a block or a really good contest on a shot. Man, idk what happened to Jamal, but I hope he figures it out.

Thank you for your excellent analysis. We created a metric averaging ranks in 6 basic stats, 4 advanced metrics (PER, WS, BPM, VORP), Team performance, and individual defense (3 basic & 2 advanced stats). Based on ‘24-‘25 season stats thru 1st 18gms, my aggregate metric has Nokic 1, SGA 2, Tatum 3, Davis 4, Greek 5… Almost identical to your analysis… Standouts or takeaways? (1) All 5 are in the top 10 in all 4 advanced metrics, and no other single NBA player is even close. (2) Jokic & SGA are currently playing better defense than the other 3. (3) There is a lot more (x2+) space between 1&3 than there is between 3&5. (4) Jamal Murray is currently 61st overall among players with at least 300 minutes, & 15th amongst PGs... (ie: Jokic needs more help to contend); Can't get the Lebron metric tool to generate useful info for me, and the assignation of roles seems very arbitrary. If you are trying to create acceptance for this tool, they need a tutorial video and better branding (no one can find Lebron Tool content in a sea of LeBron James content!)

Complete nonsense MVP does not depend on the player being in the best team, otherwise the award would be MVPBT. That is why the advent of statistics was created in order to separate the most colorful of all players. The current situation is Jokic in first place and Jans in second, the other two are not even close precisely because they have the best teams, which further implies that there is someone to cover when the best player does not play the best while Jokic and Janis do not have that privilege.
