Girl it's the story of my life making separate meals for the family! I love these ideas and especially them being SOS free (as I am Nutritarian). Everyone makes fun of me for my diet, but it helped me heal from seborrheic dermatitis I had since I was 20 and all of my hormone issues. Now I am 7 years in and still loving it! Thank you for all you do, as I appreciate the meal ideas and get support from watching your videos. Definitely trying the carrots, peas, and rice ASAP!

My issue is that while I love all of the oil free vegan cheese sauces to have an easy sauce I hate making them. 😂. And I am the only one that eats it so I end up wasting some. My issue is I find I can’t figure out how to add a sauce without making a recipe or just using something with bad ingredients I need to start just getting frozen grains if I can find them. Our local Walmart doesn’t have them. The only ones they do have are ones that have oils and seasonings.
@Amelia-qm6bk6 ай бұрын
I used to make cheese sauces and other sauces but now i just use a creamy base such as silken tofu or plain yoghurt and add a few spices and lemon. I typically add garlic granules, dry herbs and some salt, and lemon. I also love to drizzle tahini . As for rice, if you batch cook in the IP and freeze, you will have your own frozen rice 😊

I get that. The easiest most delicious flavoring for most meals is nutritional yeast and low sodium soy sauce, or tahini and low sodium soy sauce. Thats it. Easy and tastes great. There are also a few vegan cheese sauces at the stores that are also oil free. I get Credo.

My husband isn’t vegan. I thought he would join me when I transitioned. I cant cook meat for my husband. It repulses me. I am the cook in the house and it has really hurt my marriage. Do you have any suggestions?
@HealthyVeganMama6 ай бұрын
I sat my husband down and expressed to him how important it was for me to eat this way (my health was bad). I told him that I was okay with him eating meat as long as it was out of the house. So now he and the kids eat all of their meat, dairy, eggs, etc when they go out. There are a few times (now that’s it’s 5 years later), he will bring back a rotisserie chicken for them and they will eat my mail dish as a side. And that doesn’t bother me because I don’t have to mess with the chicken. But all and all they eat anything not vegan at restaurants, sandwich shops, friends houses, school, etc.

I feel you on this.

I went through this. I also sat them down, my son and his dad, and told them how important this was to me. I told them it was not a fad and that what I witnessed about the animal industry hurt me to the core and that I can't and won't take part in this. I expressed that I would do all the grocery shopping and cooking and find ways to make delicious and familiar foods without the cruelty. There was some poking fun and some transition pains but my household is vegan now. They are not. I gave my son an allowance so that he could make his own food choices outside of the home and I was not directly contributing to it. Our homes are the only place in this world that is safe from the constant bombardment and reminder of the torture inflicted on these innocent creatures and that separation is extremely important for my health and well being.

🌱🕊💚 Melissa sounds sorta like my situation; I sure relate to you! 8 years ago I told my husband that for my health & to lose dangerous weight, I would be eating vegan & would love for him to join me for the health journey. He immediately raged, calling me a heathen (even though Daniel & his friends in the Bible went vegan to prove God’s point). I calmly suggested he could eat all the meat & meat products outside the house, but just not in our home. It was against his mental state to follow the lead of his wife. He continued the profane rage & said I was going to continue patting out his raw hamburger patties, cooking roasts etc…. I continued to cook both ways & like you, I can’t stand the smell or look of meats-dead animals. It was not until stress took its toll & I fell ill last year that I stood up to the bully & told him I will no longer cook his meat meals. I will only cook whole food vegan in the kitchen & he is more than welcome to eat the potatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli, mushrooms, etc… He blew up yet again & said he’d cook meat in “his house” all he wants. So I still have to smell it cooking in the microwave…& he leaves the residue dishes & bowls for me to clean up walking out of the kitchen after he eats. …but my emotional health has improved now because I stood up to the bully….& no, because of unspoken reasons I can not leave him & start all over.
