The June direct was the perfect send off. A September direct would be underwhelming and would dilute the memory of the June direct.

When was it ever stated by Nintendo that this was the final direct for the switch! This community is coming to dangerous conclusions! Until they officially announce and celebrate a final direct dedicated to the switch console. Then that wasn't the final one and we will be getting a direct in September lol

Switch 2 has no games If we track what every studio is currently making, there’s not much left over after that last direct. A September direct could only be the cause of a very bad business decision, we don’t need an “official statement”

But I still feel the rest of your opinion is really needlessly -ve and not noting of context: of course any following Direct right after will struggle and outright likely flat out won't match it , We saw this effect in the 'Partners Direct' where Endless Ocean of all things was the 'big' reveal. And ''Switch 2 has no games'' , well that's all sorts of wrong if going by any crumb from gaming landmarks down the years. 1st - We simply don't know all that's going on. Even if Nintendo seemingly had ''shown Us all'' , we can have a Tears' Depths situation where they virtually showed off none of that but it was a very real and major thing. 2nd - PS2 had an (in)famously slow launch - and look what it became.

Directs are about to get drastically more hype for me, for the last few years directs were nice but I knew Nintendo were saving most of their big games for switch 2, now for every direct in switch 2 era anything is on the table and they will be much more exciting to speculate and wait for. Not only are all games on the table but each new game they show will have a drastic visual and gameplay design boost from the drastic projected jump in power the switch 2 will offer, I will feel like a kid again lol

@@LinouGertz I doubt Nintendo will reveal or announce the switch 2 in September. Nintendo doesn't want to jeopardize current switch consoles sales for the holiday season.

@@shanestevick679 The sales are already going down and the console is already mentioned and confirmed so don't think an announcement will change much. And as he states in the video, those who buys a console this late in the life cycle don't care about getting the new console on day one anyway but will be fine with the current gen for a while. It will coexist with Switch 2 for years and a September announcement wont hurt that!

@@LinouGertz It doesn't matter really. I heard this on KZbin that Nintendo is not dropping the price for the current switch console until the holiday season next year. This comes from the Nintendo shareholders meeting. I wouldn't get your hopes up for a switch 2 March 2025 launch or not.

I think whether a September Direct will be focused on the Switch or the Switch 2 will depend on if the Switch 2 has an August reveal. I could also see a September Direct mostly being focused on the current Switch until the final announcement which would be a Switch 2 reveal trailer.

No Andres. Nintendo said in their shareholders meeting that a price drop for the current switch console is not happening until the holiday season next year. I wouldn't get your hopes up for a switch 2 reveal this calendar year. I wouldn't get your hopes up for a switch 2 launch in March 2025. I heard about the no price drop for the current switch console until the holiday season next year on KZbin. Just something to think about.

I’m curious to see if they rethink the Direct format or flare in the next Nintendo era; the 3ds/wiiu Directs had a different attitude and approach than the switch era. Maybe it was just because of the shift from Iwata to The Kimishima and Furukawa and they won’t reinvent the wheel; or maybe they will mix it up again.

And after Odyssey, I am very excited for the next Mario project, which now with Beyonds being revealed I am speculating will be the _prime_ candidate for the Switch 2 launch. And just like Odyssey was, will be shown off at the Switch 2 reveal.

The Switch era is great, no need to rush to think about the next system, especially since it has less going for it. No 3D Zelda game a while, longer development times, A splatoon 4, Smash with less characters(or a lazy port). Enjoy the good times now!

I think it really depends if the switch 2 gets a teaser trailer at all this calendar year. I believe there will be a September direct focused on switch 1. Maybe they show off a switch 2 game but I think the switch 2 showcase won’t be till early 2025 in my opinion

There will be a September Direct and it would not be about Nintendo's next system. Next system will be revealed February 2025 and will come out September or October 2025.

My one problem with the Donkey Kong date is that it’s a tropical-themed game, doesn’t fit January at all. Would’ve been better if it’s moved to August, and give the January slot to Metroid Prime 2 Remastered.

Nintendo Directs won't change to much. They will only grow, no more Mini's, no more partner showcases, ONLY general directs that are 2 hours long, every 3 months that cover 50 1st party games coming every 3 months. It should be good.

Bro you’re tripping. The exact opposite will happen: as consoles become more powerful and games get bigger, there’s just less of them. Quarterly Directs are unsustainable, I expect Nintendo to have half-yearly Directs during Switch 2 lifetime.

People can go back to making games in 2-3 years, they don't need 5+ years to make a game, they can make smaller games that aren't complicated and make money.
