@@huntress647 the one thing that gets overlooked a lot with show Colin is that the show didn’t have a time jump so we’re not dealing with a 33 year old man like we are in the books, he’s 22 and just found out that the woman he loves is also the person responsible for exposing one of his biggest betrayals. I think Colin did pretty well this season. Even when he was mad at Penelope he listened to her, asked questions, and engaged with her, he defended her to Cressida, tried to understand her point of view, admitted his failings in the blackmail plot, went back and revisited their relationship through her old letters, and obviously supported her plan to come forward and helped by walking his mom through Penelope’s letter and, likely also why she became Whistledown in the first place. And then at the end, probably less than 2 weeks after he found out about Whistledown, he humbled himself and accepted her completely and made sure Penelope knew he loved all aspects of her. I mean that’s impressive for a 21st century man, let alone a regency era man.

Honestly, Penelope played her cards right. She confessed to her actions, explained why she started the column, asked for forgiveness, gave the Queen all of the credit for unmasking her, and wanted to make things right with her column in the future. And I think in the future, if LW is still around, we’ll be getting the book version of LW in future seasons, which is far less vindictive than this one.

I’m just finding out about this now! As much as I love Julie Andrews, I honestly thought this was a perfect way to close that chapter in Penelope’s story. (And heaven forbid, but if anything were to happen to Julie Andrews, her absence from the show wouldn’t be so abrupt). Colin even said LW’s and Pen’s voice were always the same. As sad as it made me to think that was the last time we heard Julie as LW, I was also looking forward to hearing Pen’s voice when writing the column.

This makes sense to bring Julie Andrews back. Although Penelope has now revealed her identity, Whistledown is Penelope’s creation from the very beginning, & they are one voice. The title & voice of the column doesn’t need to change. Everyone in the Ton now knows who she is.

I truly think, in due time, people`s opinions will really change about S3. So far, this season and Queen Charlotte have been my favorite. We`ve been shown different relationships mending, different types of romances. The conflict felt like something that couldn`t`ve been solved with a long conversation. Both Colin and Penelope felt like the type of leads Bridgerton has been missing. I do think the editing was bad this season, as well as there being maybe 2 subplots I would`ve cut. But overall, it`s been a blast.

After rewatching and really sitting with the season, season 3 is absolutely my favorite. There’s really only a couple things I would’ve changed but honestly I have less critiques with this season than I did seasons 1 and 2. So excited to see Polin back next season and looking forward to seeing who’s leading s4, I’m leaning towards Benedict but I’d also be excited if it was Eloise’s season!

I think Colins appeal was always that he was a sweet cute boy next door- who was genuinely TRULY kind and not just a playboy like his brothers. And then this season they kinda just. Made him that. But it still turned out quite well so!

I'm so excited to see what's next for Penelope. I want to watch how she navigates society in the midst of her fame, and balancing her career with being a wife and mother. I hope we see her interact with Lady Danbury and the queen more often in season 4.

I loved the butterflies. I didn;t guess until the very last second. "Oh! Butterflies?" and it was and it was beautiful. Butterflies are the symbol of the Featheringtons, like the bee is for the Bridgertons. It was all over their dresses especially Pen's. It's the symbol of change, hope and freedom. Which I think fits the themes of Season 3 very well. Very strong hints that next season will be Bennidict's season. When Eloise said she wouldn't stay away long because she wouldn't miss their mother's masquerade ball. Ben's story begins at this ball. So I can't wait for that!

Absolutely best season and also incredible book rescue... I love how the show, showed us a powerful women who can take care of herself, stand by herself and be what she is without a man. Also showed us how a man can be 100% ok having a women who is so successful... i hated how lots of people complaining about the lack of sex, if they want sex show go and watch porno. Or complaining why Colin didnt want to have "angry sex", when he is showing that sex is more than body interaction. I really believe they did an amazing job this season

100% correct - Colin would've gone into a horrific shame spiral if he had angry sex with Pen, that's not what he's about! He wanted to stay close to her (the couch) but needed proper time to sort through his feelings of betrayal before rejoining her in their marriage bed. Took him all of two weeks and he was already buckling after one.

I really struggled with this season when I first watched it, but I realized it's because I absolutely loved Polin and there were too many subplots that I felt could have been saved for later seasons. This season had some of my favorite scenes and Polin are definitely my favorite couple so far. I just wish the season as a whole wasn't so broad.

Even though Portia did what she had to do in order to give her daughters a good future…..she, Prudence, and Phillipa were so mean to Penelope in season 1, and a big in season 2. She isn’t a super emotional, and thoughtful mother like Violet Bridgerton who is devoted to her kids and cares deeply for them…..there’s that lack of emotional support with Portia hence why even with her “good” moments there’s some lacking.

Benedict's pair is Sophie and her story is very Cinderella like, so people are speculating that Cressida is going to be Sophie. She just got send away to live with her evil aunt, probably forced to do house work (in her last scene she has chains on her hair), and her mom's name its the same of Sophie stepmother in the book. It would explain the story we got from her this season. I can see them doing this, there is a lot to explore

I didn't like that they built up that cute couple just to throw it out of the window in the end. Starting with her not enjoying the wedding kiss and then immediately falling for the cousin. In the books, the cousin fell immediately for her and she just loved John and had no eyes for another. The way the show presented it now cheapens the John-Francesca romance and it felt like cheating. Hope they won't do a love triangle for the drama (as in season 2). I hate love triangles.

Right they should have kept it like the books. Francesca being in aware of the feelings the cousin has for her and the cousins having the reaction Francesca had. Because having Francesca react like that cheapened her love for John.

I agree in that Francesca shouldn't be attracted to the cousin yet. She's supposed to be so in love that she'd never look at another person. It felt like we built up John and Francesca for most of the season only to undercut it at the very end of the season.

This was actually my least favorite season (yes even below season 1). I truly didn't care about any of the side stories, especially Cressida and the Mondrichs. I also felt like there was a serious lack of romance for the main couple, especially in part 2. Overall the show just felt off in terms of vibes compared to the previous seasons.

I can't watch until this weekend but I'd stopped watching reviews because people were clearly influenced by online hate (all saying the same thing verbatim is a dead giveaway) but this comment section & your thumbnail are encouraging!
