Again a good video, but again also the same criticism as before: You need to take more time to cover trunk space. Can one fold the seats over for additional space?? Not possible on the ET7! What about underfloor trunk storage (a huge benefit of Tesla)? What about a Frunk?

You can fold the seats, very limited underfloor trunk storage and no frunk. Brilliant car and he's wrong about tall people, I'm 194 cm and have a great seating position, I think the tight position is between legs and steering wheel and the height doesn't really matter there, it's similar to entering a sports car, a bit tight but once you have your position its great.

True. Strangely the reviewers won't touch the ET5 cargo volume. The ET5 has no frunk, like any other NIO car. Underfloor trunk storage as only about 8 liters storage. Rear seats can be folded. But zero information about the max cargo volume of the ET5.

Agreed. If NIO survives the industry consolidation that is taking place in China (and will occur in other markets), they will likely remove LiDAR after capturing enough sales and market share. Seems like a short term play for them to differentiate in a way, but we’ll see. Removing LiDAR from their cars would definitely reduce production costs significantly.

I've driven old EV rentals that were abused and literally falling apart (pieces of trim missing, one had a loose steering column) but the powertrain and battery range was never an issue. So if that was true of cars 10 years ago it should still be the case that as long as you take reasonable care of them (just like any car) they will last a very long time.

How come a brand like Nio is doing so well and Xpeng for example is on the edge of bankruptcy? From what I see on vids the quality of both brands are up there with the best. I like both companies for their design, but I think Nio is just to expensive. That said Nio is clearly a healthier company with more sales then Xpeng. Is there an explenation why Xpeng is doing so bad despite having also good looking vehicles?

@@71Hamed If i go for a battery swap, i would need to drive around 100km in Europe to replace it, then drive 100km back. I'm never going to do that... That's 200km charged battery costs gone just to replace the battery, and around 1.5 hours to drive to it, swap it, then 1.5 hours drive back. That's 3 hours gone to replace a battery. Swapping in Europe probably won't work as good as in China.

The way he presents it, every Chinese made EV and electric 2 wheeler is crap and will catch fire on you. Considering there is maybe 20 million EVs and at least 200 million electric scooters/moped all around China, I'm surprised the entire country hasn't burned to a crisp by now! Now I'm sure BYD's are catching fire, but cars catch on fire all the time, and there are a lot of BYDs on the roads. For instance on an average year, there are at least 170,000 car fires on US roads. Did that guy give out any statistics as to how many BYDs are catching fire? How many of those are actual BEVs? At least half the cars BYD sells are PHEVs with ICE powertrains. All the BYDs I saw on fire in his video are the dynasty series cars (Qin, Han, Tang), most of which are PHEV. I've no clue if those were actually battery fires, or the car caught on fire due to its gas powertrain. Lastly his conclusion in the video is that Chinese cars are catching fire all the time, but the government is somehow suppressing it and not letting anyone know about it, just like China's electric buses and high speed rail are catching fire too, but other than the 15 clips he scrounged up to put in his video, everything else is being suppressed I guess? There are almost 20,000 electric buses and another 20,000 electric taxis just in the city of Shenzhen and they are just catching fire out there in public left and right all the time? And the Chinese government is suppressing news about widespread fires to force people into buying BYDs by the millions just so they can drive them home, have them catch fire, and maybe get their buildings or neighboring cars on fire too? Trust me, there is no place where rumor spreads faster than on Chinese social media. The government can try to suppress things, but rumors about cars catching on fire would have already spread all over WeChat like, well, like wild fire.
