Good video. Nice to see how the car has changed and how "Classic" is often better than the new design. It is pretty tough to reference model years when comparing Teslas though. I have a December 2015 model with several of the items that were changed prior to the official facelift. When people look to buy used, they need to look at specific features they want and VIN numbers.
@BlackTesla8 жыл бұрын
Thats correct its tough to use model Years as Tesla does not, but if you follow the changes you can use Years or parts of years (i.e. early 2015, late 2016) to reference features. So a late 2016 car is going to have AP2 hardware whereas an early 2016 car will not. VIN numbers makes it even harder because there are so many now that its hard to keep track of the exact VIN where changes were introduced.

Very nice job. If I could add to your comparison, the side mirrors were fixed in the 2013 and earlier versions, became a fold in option in 2014 and were standard on the newest models. Also, I believe in the oldest version you compared, the gear selector was backlit. The newer ones are not. Factcheck both of these, but I believe that's the case. Regardless, it was an informative video. Keep it up!

I think the Model S has the sexiest headlight design in the entire automotive industry. Really, I love the overall design of all their vehicles. It's just so clean and elegant, which can't be said for many new cars these days. I hope they are tightening up all their build quality issues, I assume by now the majority of it has been resolved. Regardless, they really are beautiful machines with very exciting tech.

Fantastic informative video, thank you Black Tesla. I'm looking to upgrade my classic late model 2013 S to a new one soon. One pleasant surprise that I noticed was that they made the premium headliner standard now. It makes the car so much more luxurious now. When will we see a part two to this video? Can't wait to see the new autopilot 2.0 Model S!
@BlackTesla8 жыл бұрын
Thanks glad you like the video. Yes they are making a lot of things that were once options, now standard, as well as grouping options together to provide more value for the money. We should be getting our hands on the new cars next month. I have seen a few changes so far with the latest builds pre-AP2.0 so I will make a video to add to this one.
@johnzhang228 жыл бұрын
The Model S is improving every month, not by the year like other car manufacturers. My delivery is scheduled to be mid January. Do you anticipate any major changes coming out during the 1st quarter of next year? If so, I can always delay my delivery by a few months. I'm very excited for enhanced autopilot, hopefully it's a huge improvement from the current system.

Very helpful video as I've decided a used S is the smart buy for me and hopefully, within 2 months. As I seriously look at available used Model S cars, I'm kind of stunned at what you get for such reasonable prices. IMO, much more car than an M3. I completely lost interest in buying an M3 because of ongoing paint and panel alignment issues.
@BlackTesla4 жыл бұрын
Model S is a better all around car than the Model 3, the 3 is just more reasonably priced. A good used S 2017 or newer in the b price range of a new 3 is a great value. Best of luck 👍🏾

@BlackTesla4 жыл бұрын
2016 is nice, but based on the price it might make more sense to get a model 3 or Y. If the prices are comparable to the 2016 then I'd say go for the newer cars since they will include more features for the same price as the 2016.

I, too, am seriously considering a refresh 2016 S. What is your opinion of the paint quality? I have to say that those three examples look stellar.
@BlackTesla5 жыл бұрын
Paint quality for used cars will be subject to how the owner cared for it. In general Tesla paint/clear coat is very soft and is prone to swirls and scratches easily if not properly protected. I'd suggest examining the paint thoroughly but setting your expectation that some level of paint correction will be needed. Black is especially difficult to keep pristine but when it is it's the absolute best 😉
@jonathanl27485 жыл бұрын
Black Tesla With the way Tesla sells their used cars, I will not be able to view the vehicle (except for several pictures from the rep). I live in the New Orleans area and I would have to be lucky to find what I want I. The nearest stores: Houston and Atlanta. I appreciate your content of your channel. Thanks.
@BlackTesla5 жыл бұрын
That's ok get the car and inspect afterwards with the expectation that some correction will be needed. Either way these are the best cars you can buy you will be happy with so many things paint will be the last thing you think about!

thanks for this video and i have one question whats the difference in battery from 2013 to 2017 ? its the same or have some improvement for better distance ?
@sbscreative49417 жыл бұрын
Batteries change very frequently and depending on the car may have been replaced with a newer version. That means that the model year does not necessarily map to a certain battery pack. However, its safe to say that the newer the pack the longer the range, and the faster the charging!

I think the front sonar is actually in the windshield.

Its actually just below the front bumper. It needs to be that low so it can detect all objects of a certain height or higher. If it was at the windshield it would miss anything lower than the windshield.

@BlackTesla8 жыл бұрын
It has USB ports that are data and power, but for the data you need a USB thumb drive/stick, it wont read your phone as a USB drive so using the thumb stick is the way to have locally stored music in your car, no transfer to the actual car just reading from your USB drive/stick.
