But the actress says she is "just popping out onto Earth"....5:55 Do the actors not follow the show's story? She didn't walk on Earth.
@alexanderthompson5713

@@jamesroberts3642 I think she was using the word "earth" as we might use it to describe the ground, i.e. "I picked up a handful of earth", and not really the name of the planet. Sort of a slip, but when you're talking fast I can see why the brain would come up with the word "earth" in that situation. She seems to be really into the story of the show so I'm sure she knows that the alien planet wasn't Earth.

that is called great adaptation of the book. You cant just use all the characters from the book with exact same lines and put on tv show. Book had its own flow, visual media its own. What they did is amazing combination of portraying characters' and great casting of actors with magic skills. Imagine Expanse without Shohreh Aghdashloo as Avasarala, David Strathairn as Ashford or Cara Gee as Drummer between others

in case you're reading, lol: i love you both, and the rest of your "expanse" crew. steven, i especially admire how gradually you've matured as holden; i was afraid it wouldn't feel organic, like it is in the books, but you've held steady and not rushed it, and where you are right now (well, as of season 4, episode 10) is exactly how i imagined the where holden would be at this point. you and dominique really carry the heart of this show on your backs, and it seems effortless. @@petrowegynyolc7108 Honestly, I couldn’t sum up her character better than that. On the one hand, I have an innate distrust and disdain for activist, revolutionary types because they believe they can do no wrong and have a hard time realizing when they’ve gone beyond justice and dipped into vengeance. That being said, I also have a deep hatred for oppression and any entity or group of entities that seeks to quash the freedoms of individuals. Naomi is one of the few characters I’ve come across who skirts that fine line without crossing over into either naïveté or vengeful malice. EXCEPTIONALLY well-performed and well-written.

What happened was me watching season 1 - 2 ..1 - 3... 1 - 4... so on so forth.. and I've seen the entire series more than 10 times for sure after all of it released.. maybe more.. kinda lost count.. It's a sci-fi series that kind of feels like home. It makes me sad that my mother a hardcore sci-fi fan died before it was made.. a show i hope my children will watch.. It just is amazing. And every actor, crew member and everyone involved is just.. pure perfection in some sense.. Bring back the entire crew and make something of the inbetween! ...Just bring them back and make something more. They worked so well together!

I love this show, but there is so much noise about how realistic it is, and human centered Science Fiction drama, so much that people are not willing to even entertain a little criticism of it. I really hate that. I hate that people are as partisan in stupid TV matters as they are in political stuff ... it is like a major malfunction in the human brain or something, or they are goaded into being in those "silos" as they call them, or base their identities on stuff like that. Given that bad things do happen to the real life portrayers of celluloid heroes, it's not uncommon for shows to have contingency plans if an actor meets an unexpected fate and is no longer available. Depending on how the investigation pans out, I have the utmost confidence Corey et al with come up with a proper solution. Given their exceptional adaptation of the books into an excellent TV presentation, this bump in the road may even lead to a better story arc.

This is something that is very common in today's society so it doesn't shock me. We are ALL Humans and there should NOT be a "side" to have to choose from. But people, for some reason nowadays, want that to be the case and will bring it up and mention it any chance they get. Her making a far-reaching attempt to make this show "woke" ruins it for me. If your not mixed you might have a problem understanding what she means here. As a mix individual you find yourself stuck between two communities/races. So these communities force you to pick a side as if your either with them or against them. It reminds me heavily of a black and white relationship back in the day where each side found it to be taboo or shameful. I completely understand where she's coming from.

The worst part of the expanse for me was the entire season 1 where Naomi just mansplained Holden's character and any guy she encountered for that matter . I couldn't tell if she hated James Holden or if she hated men in general

Omg if you grew up in the 90's in London as a mixed race person, you are not "oppressed". You're a victim hobbyist.

5:54....did she just say, "She is just popping out onto Earth"???? Uhhh....Do they watch the show? This wasn't on EARTH!!!!! Also...How many times does she have to mention she is a "mixed race BLACK woman". Funny...if your'e mixed race, how can you call yourself still of ONE race, unless you feel you get some sort of social privilege by identifying as one or the other? Great actress though so please don't ban me for stating a factual thing she stated.

I don’t think she meant the planet Earth. People also say the word ‘Earth’ when referring to dirt/soil/land/ground.

@@LeahB31 Maybe...But that's not the trend in the TV show whatsoever...At least, not that I noticed.
