Type 2 diabetes complicated by peripheral neuropathy is a terrible disease. This means that you both have decreased immune system function and decreased feeling in your feet. Make sure to work with your primary care doctor and specialists such as a podiatrist to help manage your diabetic foot problems so that your don't develop an ulcer or an infection. These usually start as a callus or a corn, so make sure your take care of these as soon as possible!

I have what looks like an ulcer on the side of my foot. Dermatologist removed what he diagnosed as skin cancer twice taking several months to heal each time. Now many years later its back. New dermatologist doesnt think its skin cancer, wants me to go to a wound center. The other night I was using a new foot massager and the next morning my ulcer bled like crazy when I got up, all over my floor. I have been dealing with this wound for over 20 years. I do have perifial neuropathy in both feet and hands. My ulcer is perfectly round.

@@ahm7944 Thanks for the info. I am glad to say that a wonderful Moss surgeon removed what was basal cell cancer after 4 surgeries to get it all. he took quite a chunk of my foot out but its all healed now. Weird place to get skin cancer.

Many times it's ulcerated tophaceous gout or infected ulcerated tophaceous gout. If a blister comes up over a joint, which turns into a constantly draining ulcer, and the skin peels from the joint, it's gout. The pus needs to be checked under polarized microscope for gout crystals.

Absolutely gout can be a very common cause. If there is a history of gout, that that is always a concern!

Neuropathy is nasty to live with. I have restless legs, and the fire-ice, twitches, and near cramps are terrible. 20 minutes soaking in a hot water bath with gentle massage of major muscles and arches really helps, as well as the doctor suggested extra calcium and vitamin D.

What is the white medicene you put on the diabetic foot sore and is there somewhere I can buy the white stuff you put on the patients foot. Should I clean the sore with betadine every time I change the dressing. Thank you for the video it was very informative.
