This actually inspired me to look up the first jigsaw puzzle and turns out it was a engraver and mapmaker named John Spilsbury who made wooden cutouts of the countries to help kids in the late 1700s learn geography. Normally I'd accept the ryanverse as gospel but this felt worth sharing

The facial expressions in this skit are what makes this so funny. The guy tearing it up has this defiant and obnoxious stare that I remember on so many of the bullies at school who'd wreck other people's things for the hell of it. Actually, buying a pre-broken picture and spending several days putting it together just so you can put it back in the box after is WAY more fun than buying a not broken picture that you can just hang on your wall, I decided.
@candlestorms
@candlestorms 2 жыл бұрын
Maybe even after you've spent several days putting the broken picture back together you can break it again and give it to a friend or loved one and get them to put the broken picture back together. You'll be spending a lot of time doing that when you're old. 'Won't I be enjoying my retirement?' No, by the time you get to that age you'll be too weak and work out to really do anything, I decided.
@mygoldenwitch
@mygoldenwitch 2 жыл бұрын
What about we get the best of both worlds? You buy a pre-broken picture, spend days putting it together, then FRAME IT and hang it on your wall so when people come over you can be all, 'Yeah, this picture used to be broken, but now it's not anymore because I put it back together, and it took a lot of effort!' and then they will be really impressed probably possibly maybe AND you'll have the picture on your wall just the same except for the parts where it will always show where it was broken but that makes it even more artistic, I decided.

@@themc3311 it's both. You learn to rock Google when there isn't a day that goes by I don't wonder random things like the story of how bed sheets became a thing, various wedding customs, or what plants to put on a window sill to prevent mosquitoes from going inside.
