The haptic climate in the Tiguan and now Jetta have a tendency of going from whatever your temp was, to "HI" or "LO" as soon as you slide your finger, instead of quickly scrolling through temps. It's amazing how many people I show a new VW to who have watched umpteen reviews about "how awful the haptics are", and then think the reviews are overblown. Don't get me wrong, I prefer buttons too, but turning up and down the radio volume with a quick swipe is nicer than 10 button presses.
