The Masters of Motown.... One of the greatest voices ever... Mr. Levi Stubbs, along with the Tops.... He had been offered to go on a solo career but he knew his Destiny lay with being with the Four Tops and he never wanted to be known as - quote unquote- " the Lead Singer" ... he was humble, loyal , and that is such a rare thing.... This is REAL MUSIC. REAL TALENT . It is something Motown was known for. I'm so glad I grew up listening to this, and all the great Artists of that time. We need it back , this amazing type of Music.

From what I can remember watching part of it in the UK, the BBC and the presenters were quite disparaging about the US bit, with cameras showing Americans playing Frisbee as the crowd assembled. Meanwhile the UK bit was well into the Bowie and Queen thing. When they did go over to the US it was guys like Neil Young droning on about the poor US farmers, which was rather missing the point. The Four Tops were great!

I grew up in the UK with the Motown Sound but the Four Tops were and still are my favorite. Levi's voice and the music of the Four Tops still make me want to dance at 64. One of the groups in Motown that kept the same line up through their glorious career, not many can say that during the Motown years. SIMPLY THE BEST...EVER. They may not all be with us any longer but their music lives on.

Absolutely. The same Members, and the surviving Member carries this on, with his son which is wonderful. God bless them . They will be a favourite of mine till I'm no longer on the Earthly Plane.... I grew up listening to them, and all the Great Music and Artists of Motown... there's nothing that comes close to this kind of pure sound and talent in this day and age. Amen.

I was there! Holy crap it was hot - at one point the Philly Fire Department raised a ladder over the top of the stadium and started hosing down the crowd. JFK was a dump - it looked like a Roman ruin. But what a show! The 4 Tops rocked the place.

Levi Stubbs is one of the goats of modern rock n roll, one of the greats since end of WW2 last 70-odd years. If not the GOAT, he destroys Elvis or John Lennon in goat or stage prescence, he's the Michael jordan of rock n roll what a star. Levi Stubbs/and his cousin Jackie Wilson(better than Elvis/Lennon) are superstars, who never got the same acclaim as Elvis/John Lennon/Michael Jackson/Bob Marley etc. Levi Stubbs has the best rock n roll voice I've ever heard. Four Tops rock.
