In this video, IM Andrey Ostrovskiy continues the series on the French Defense with the Winawer Variation. If white continues after 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 with 3.Nc3 Bb4, we enter the Winawer Variation of the French Defense. The main focus of this video is on the basic ideas, strategies and plans for both sides in the different lines that arise out of the Winawer Variation.

Great video! A lot of informations for those who consider to play winawer with black or struggle with white against it. Btw at 4:41 the best is Kf8! and b*a5 or Nb5 both leads to a long long lines in which black can get an equal position. Ne7 is in fact a mistake, it was played in the game Fischer-Tal which was drawn, but after the best moves it almost loses, but that is very deep theory.
