I absolutely love this story. Back in the 80's a band called Heatwave had a few hits: Always & Forever, Boogie Nights, etc. They were performing at a church function in a hotel that was also hosting a wedding. The bride comes close enough to hear and says "Wow, they're really good! They sound just like the original band!" Someone informed her that they were indeed the original band, then brought her and her husband out to the dance floor where they performed "Always and Forever" for the couple.

I'm an organist, and a few years ago I played for an Indian or similar wedding. I agree with you, it was one of the most-formal weddings I've played for. Literally all the guests were in gowns and sparkles and tuxes that were pressed to a T. A few women in the family had elaborately decorated the center aisle with flower petals before the guests showed up; this helped prevent the guests from using that aisle ahead of time, but then the petals all smoothed out as the bride's dress swooshed over them. The ceremony was also pretty long as everything had to be translated between their native language and English.
