Re: paying handicapped workers less. I used a workshop full of developmentally challenged people to assemble newsletters and do envelope stuffing. One day, the shop I work at needed quite a few large tree models for a scale model we were building. Why not try them? I was invited to give a "How-to", which I did. Once. When I came back to see how they had fared, I had racks of the best trees I had ever seen; they were beautiful. I asked the woman in charge to please relay my compliments to the worker who had made them. I always think of that when people start going on about paying workers less. Very often, It's a matter of finding their hidden talent, something I like to think is somewhere in many, if not most people.

I think minimum wage is for people with limited performance - handicapped or not - and that as soon as someone proves themselves better than expected, they should get a raise. My older brother is intellectually and physically disabled and while he understands that money buys things, he doesn’t understand like we do that his time and labour has a value. And he may never understand that. He is now doing work with other people like him and while he does get paid for it, it’s not about the dollar worth. He is being taught basic skills that he can eventually use at home for himself. It also gives him the opportunity to experience and interact with the world and with other people because for a long time that was denied to him. Having said all that, I would find it extremely difficult to believe that people with disabilities are being taken advantage of. But we are talking about America and with that being the case, I believe that anything is possible in that country, unfortunately.

The Bible also forbids the making of, and obeisance to 'graven images'. The Bible is very flexible though, if you want to bow down to a statue of Mary or any other 'saint', you just need to thumb through till you find another verse that allows it. I've never seen such a verse, but there must be at least one in there, as many churches, Catholic in particular, have a whole selection of idols to bow down before.

@billgrandone35523 жыл бұрын
@@jaygee5693 Unlike most Protestant religions, the Catholic Church does not limit itself to the teachings of the Bible but also incorporates Canon law and dogma. The r ule for that comes from the Bible and Jesus' words to Peter and the Apostles when He sent them out to teach all nations and told them what ever they shall bind on Earth , shall be bound in Heaven, and what ever they shall loose, shall be loosed in Heaven. Catholics do NOT worship graven images. Get that through your heads if nothing else. The Virgin Mary holds a special place in the hearts of Roman Catholics for we see her as one who was born without sin and did not die, but was assumed into Heaven and there can interject herself with God on behalf of people who have requested her help through their prayers. Saints are seen in much the same light as people who have earned salvation and who can assist us in the same. Now I realize that this sounds a bit strange but Protestants have something similar when a TV preacher claims that he speaks and hears directly to God and for a small " love offering" he can buy you a miracle. Cancer-no problem, heart disease-no problem, blindness, no problem The only difference is in the Catholic church there is no monetary charge and no guaranteed positive result. God answers all prayers, but sometimes the answer is "No"

9:37 is so accurate. They aren't pro-life. They use that as a pitiful excuse to play the good samaritans when in reality they only care abt the baby until it's born. They don't care about life, the mother's life and the born baby's life. Just abt ideology

Because I said "NO" to being pregnant and they removed that right from me. Rape victims never have a choice. I know this for a solid fact because I am a rape victim and I said no, but he held me down saying it's my job to birth his kids. Where is my choice during all of this while this dead beat pins me down and forces himself inside me? Thank God I was on birth control.

On his turn, the clerk asked him if he was there to pick up a prescription or if he had a vaccine appointment. He snorted and said, "prescription" and gave her his info. When she came back and was ringing it up he said, "I got the first jab, but when they started saying you might need more than one, I figured that was enough. If it can't work one time it probably won't work a second or third time." Without skipping a beat she said cheerfully, holding up the bag with his bottle of pills in it, "Oh, well then you won't want this, then! I noticed it's a refill!" @cliftonmcnalley84692 жыл бұрын
I'm honestly not trying to be snarky(rude), but it seems English may not be your first language. You might want to study those sentences. The responding person understood correctly. The original poster was saying that a person that doesn't have friends shouldn't be considered an introvert but should be considered a person with a damaged personality/possible mental illness/possible low IQ. That is what he meant by using the word "problem". The original poster was clearly stating that person without friends was defective in some way. I truly have great respect for those that speak additional languages. I've tried numerous times, but my brain just won't let anything stick.
@tanveersingh54232 жыл бұрын
@@cliftonmcnalley8469 ah..there is a concept of bias that you are applying. You assigned the meaning that is conducive to your moral stance and wish to lecture others because nowhere it mentions, that "problem" means low iq, defective etc...this is simply your interpretation. Problem can also be high ego, rude behaviour, unrealistic expectations etc.. The person who replied, did the same mistake by assuming and giving the statement a meaning depending upon how they perceive the world. People do love to moral police others and stand for other people because it gives them an sense of higher morality, even in places where they should stop and comprehend first. Also if you didn't want to appear snarky you would have just written rude if you actually felt like i wouldn't understand snarky instead of writing snarky and mentioning rude adjacent to it just to show off your english skills..lol

@@cliftonmcnalley8469the guy who replied assumed introverts don't have friend...ffs that is not true...they have friends! The original post is actually trying to defend introverts by creating a line between anti social people and introverts.

@@tanveersingh5423 English is my first language and I understand it better than 99 % of humanity and can prove so in a court of law if necessary. I understand the nuances extremely well. You don't care for my explanation and understanding so you are applying your own bias. What you have written applies to you.
@tanveersingh54232 жыл бұрын
@@cliftonmcnalley8469 well, i take your advice and will try to reassess what it means. I think it is ambiguous...but if we go by your logic, this means it denies the concept of "introvert". Like either you have friends or you are a problem....but the original does not appears to do that. It uses extreme words like don't have "any friends " and then states that you are not an introvert but a problem. If the statement was like "if you don't have many friends, are not an introvert. You are a problem" then your logic fits well here...and it is evident from the reply that the person assumed introverts don't have friends....that's an absurd and misinformed assumption.
