Take a year or two off after high school. Pay close attention to what you find yourself doing on your free time when you're not FORCED to do anything. During my year off I read voraciously. I read and studied physics, chemistry, ancient history, poetry, neuroscience, and philosophy. I studied more than I had ever studied while being in school. I quickly determined that I wanted to be a professor. I'm in my last few days of my PhD program and have a job waiting for me. Taking that time off was probably the smartest thing I did.

This is still my favorite video of yours. I really like the ice cream analogy especially since I keep having to go through the crap on the top. I think that there is a cycle: you have to go through crap to get to the better part but then you are met with new obstacles and the cycle repeats just in a different situation. I am in a transition period right now-- finally done with high school and now getting ready for college.

You have this fantastic ability to make people laugh, to handle super sensitive topics in ways which captivate and inspire, and to generally entertain. I know the future is daunting, I'm in the exact same position. I am also in junior year (although we call it fifth year here in Scotland) and I need to start thinking about university but I just have no idea what I should do with my future. hey if it makes all you high school kids feel better literally none of the crap you're worried about in high school will matter once you leave. just get decent grades and you're set.... none of the drama will matter once you leave (i don't see anybody from high school that i don't make an effort to see) and its OKAY to not know what you wanna do! many kids in college still don't and you have plenty of time to figure it out. it'll all work out, kids :)
