Hold altfire to slamfire the weapon inaccurately! generally this weapon is useful at midrange but loses the sheer punch you get out of a shotgun. I think this should deal somewhere around 50 a pop...? It'll still drop off fairly fast.

@@Poltard Less damage seems kinda lame so I would personally make the primary fire basically identical to stock but with a lot of spread and the secondary fire would have the same damage but has a really tight spread and would automatically empty your magazine and finally the gun has 8 shots total instead of 6, just like the Garand. The gun's incredible dps would be balanced out by the skill required to continually hit 8 shots with basically no spread, the primary fire being basically useless at any range.

The gun looks amazing, animates beautifully and sounds crisp. The slight ping after every shot as the shell is ejected, the immediate shift of "this is great" to "oh crap, my thumb" and the soldier's excitement that shows in his animation just as much in his voice make this a treat to watch. Good work all around!

Getting your thumb caught in the Garand was such a common issue (and so painful) that it lead to the term "Garand Thumb" which your thumb was all bruised from fumbling the reload.

I appreciate the disgression used in the animation. there's not all this tight flinching of the camera and snappy hand movements that every first person animation uses nowadays. it's natural and has a flow to it, but it isn't overly flashy for the sake of it. it's just good.

I love how it’s animated that your thumb gets stuck in the reload mechanism as it was a common fault of the original gun, causing bruises on the thumbs of soldiers using the weapon

it wasnt a fault of the gun, it was a common mistake soldiers made. it can always be avoided. it was designed to do that, you aren't supposed to have your thumb in the way when the breach closes.

I'm kind of curious how it happened, it's a pump gun here, the real M1 is semiautomatic and the bolt will bite your thumb on reload because it's under tension, once the clip is loaded it releases. On a shotgun, the pump would move that part, so the only logical explanation is that soldier slid the pump forward while his thumb was still in there.
