I have to say, I owned a 30s - the slim slide version - and sold it after a few days. The thin and short slide really wasn't up to the task of soaking up 45ACP recoil. The gun was unnecessarily jumpy - compared to S&W 45C or HK45CT for example - and would fail to feed from a 13rd mag unless I really paid attention to my grip. The dwell time just was too short.

The ulnar nerve in your arm is connected to your pinky and contributes greatly to trigger jerk. The subcompact Glocks G26, 27, 30 have a grip frame that locks the gun into your palm better than a full size. I traded my G21 for a G30 for this very reason. Massad Ayoob endorses the G30 as well. It outshoots the G21 because the gun torques less in your hand. I carry the flush fit 9 round in the gun and (2) 13 rounders as backup.

Hello Mat, it was a really good video, thanks. I’m from Brasil, and the Brazilian laws makes almost impossible to have a gun. Our market is really poor e fully dominated by 9mm pistols. Besides that, there are only two factories: Taurus and Imbel. But, our actual president it’s trying to make our gun market more competitive and now, we can (at least try) buy some Glock, Sig and other imported guns. But first, we need to deal with tons of law issues to get that access. And because of that, we don’t have the chance of been testing guns before but it. A Glock 30 costs about 2.200 US dollar (and our “minimum salary” it’s about 200 US dollar/month) so try to imagine the scene. So, after long hours of videos, I decided to by a G30 4Gen to be my carry gun. I hope to manage the .45 ACP recoil (never shoot this caliber before). Sorry about my poor English and thanks for the video

If i was shooting at the same pace as you stated you were and the owner of the range asked me to slow down because people were “intimidated” that would be my last trip to that range. That is ridiculous, i never understood the “intimidated” thing, you’re at a gun range, its not like you’re trying to study in a library and somebody is popping shots off, people need to sack up. My brother took my mom to the range for the first time last month and were teaching her the basics and my brother decided to put a few rounds (like 20 rounds)through his AR-15, he let me take a few shots and he said the couple in the lane next to us were giving me the dirtiest looks when i was shooting, and i was taking very slow, deliberate shots, neither of us rapid fire, frankly we dont have the money to be wasting ammo like that. But it never fails, you can do everything right and somehow theres always that one person thats either intimidated or thinks that 5 second splits is “rapid fire.” Luckily the range were frequent the most is awesome and they dont act like jerks at all.

Anyone replace their polymer guide rod with a SS or tungsten? I'm thinking about doing that upgrade right away

Curious when you say you don’t like +1. Do you prefer to not carry with 1 in the chamber? It seemed that you were saying +1 meant an “extended mag” but +1 is referring to “one in the chamber.” Just curious! Thanks!

Plus one means a topped off mag and adding an an extra round to the chamber. Which would mean with a 10 round mag, I would have 11 rounds total. I don’t do plus one, I just use the magazine and the rounds in it. And yes I always carry one in the chamber.

I have issues with 10 +1 where the round jams after the first shot. The last round is a little tight to cycle the slide properly at some times. The G21 13round is fine 13 +1. The best option is a 9round mag with PG-30 extension and a 10rd spring for 10 +1

That’s why I don’t carry +1.
