A quite brilliant video and lesson, needs to be viewed several times and embed itself into one's brain !! Leverage out, slinging in. !!

Great video Dan!! Having golfed for 40 years now & taken numerous lessons the Pro gave almost instant feedback & changed my swing the quickest out of anything I've ever tried. So when you say "is it easy - no" "does it take time - yes" those are true statements but it is all relative & the Pro was the easiest ,& quickest path for me becoming a better ball striker both in consistency & direction -- everything goes straight except when I inadvertently apply a slight force. That is the other great thing about learning the Pro. I can now instantly tell on every golf swing whether any force even very slight was applied & can make adjustments easily during my round. Thank you so much for your videos & the Pro!

You are welcome - your understanding of the purpose of the PRO is excellent. It reveals exactly what one must do to truly move the club as a part of total body!

Omg - this ‘random’ vid just blew my mind (subscribed now)… totally makes sense!!! Thanks Dan, as a 5 foot tall giant (lol), 55 yrs old, 16 hcp, I’m sick of ‘fighting’ the clubs & I can’t wait to start relaxing everything with this awesome knowledge in my bag - THANK YOU 🎉

Best video ……Hit my best shots when I m not trying to hit the ball. Hardest thing about golf is believing in your swing without trying to hit the ball !

Suppleness. Perfect word. I take a club and with a light grip I sling it in a kind of figure 8. I only go waist high on the backswing and waist high on the follow through. Once I get the feel I translate it to a full or 3/4 swing on the ball. I get different trajectories or flights by just making very minute changes to grip pressure. The figure 8 feel remains the same. Club head outside a little on the back swing and hands rerouting to get the club going inside to out on the down swing and follow through. It really does change a swing into a sling and it is so effortless. Picture seeing the back of your trailing hand as the club is going back and the fingers and palm of the trailing hand on the down swing. Nice training aid btw. I need to make one for my 9 year old daughter, who is struggling with the feel.

I realized this recently , that I was feeling the weight of the club head at the top and trying to direct that weight down with my hands. I tried transitioning while the club was “floating” and it felt so scary because I didn’t know where the club head was in space. This is the primary reason I was over the top.

Yes - you need to learn to connect to the club head through your body, not through pressure on the shaft. It's the same connection as a ball on a string, but it's easy to get tricked by the COM. Thx!

Totally agree the rigidity is the reason for casting! So I’ve been using the pro on the driving range - I take a few practice swings with it then hit the club and then when I feel I’m starting to hit bad shots I pick it up again do few more pro swings and instantly I feel my next shot is perfect! I think it does train the muscle memory in a way! My question is , how do I permanently imbibe this into my golf swing? How long do I keep practising with the pro?

Thanks! You will likely always need a reminder of what to do. When one has a habit of using the club as a lever, it always remains as a well grooved option. The key is to keep practicing the "good" motion so it becomes more and more grooved. Also, reach out to me at dan@danmartingolf.com, maybe we can set up a virtual lesson to help you apply this to the golf club more effectively.

Talk about overcomplicate it. No golfer needs to know any of this.
@henrystevensoniii5482Ай бұрын
I do!!!
@electricalstuff259Ай бұрын
@@henrystevensoniii5482 No you don't. Not a single person is thinking of centre of mass centre of gravity and all that pish when swinging a golf club. This is like saying you need to know how a clutch engages an engine to drive a car.
@danmartingolfАй бұрын
I respect your replies, and I agree that we would like simplicity overall. But in my own coaching experience, true positive change doesn't happen until the student understands exactly what and why is causing them difficulty in their swing. Thx!

No. The shaft is rigid and has to treated as well. There are a zillion ways to move it really. The most important is the "whip" like release/timing of the clubhead. Thats the only secret of golf 😇
@danmartingolfАй бұрын
The exact problem is the zillion different ways to move it with the center of mass. There is really one perfect movement where the club is exactly proportional to every molecule in your body. And that can only happen when you bypass the COM. Thanks!
