7:44 That was definitely a nice thing about talking to you Lee, you did take my advice with a fully clean slate and credit to you that takes someone to push their ego to one side. Made it very easy to offer you advice. A phrase that I use a lot is that you were very 'teachable' and for someone like you who has accomplished so much, that speaks tonnes about you as a person. Glad it all went well.

Same for me after doing a burpee session for the first time. It's amazing to me that you can feel like you've just done a 400m sprint race in a space the size of a bathroom

Even though I have mostly been doing Iron Wolf style training for the nearly 4 years, I have been doing high rep dumbell training at home with my hex dumbells, 10,15, 20 kg. Also enjoy practising calisthenics and plyometric workouts, MUs, Pistol Squats, explosive Pushup variety, ring pushups, learning new calisthenics drills in general.

Anything I got wasn't always via information, but always trial and error. I think it's how some people learn, and it sticks better as so

John Meadows was the last one for me. Absolutely brilliant and I wish I’d had access to that type of stuff in the 80’s instead of the weider crap !

What exercises are you doing with the four day split? I ask because you need to be careful not to do solely isolation exercises or if you do then not for more than four weeks every 12 months or so. This is because hypertrophy based exercises especially isolation movement patterns promote myosin motor units to not interact with actin filaments. This is true usually for at least 40% of the skeletal muscle myosin motor units population. Right up to 60% in some cases. This means you can increase size & relative strength somewhat but significantly reduce coordination in the process. Best way to avoid this is to train Global movements aka World movements such as: snatch; Clean & jerk, power variants of them, burpees at different cadences & efforts & with or without weight. Also plyometrics including Mike Tyson press-ups. Otherwise you could sneeze & injure yourself!!! Peace & Love!!!

Sounds like a bunch of pseudoscience and scaremongering to me. Iso movements and bodybuilding style training is going to lead to injuring yourself in mundane activities? Steroids have really polluted the conceptualization of getting big and strong. Strength is never a weakness and weakness is never a strength - for natties.

Though I’ll add compound movements are super critical but I don’t think anyone is doing isolation work exclusively given the modern powerbuilding trend. A lot of people are just crazy scared of isolation work these days.
