Mr. Kincaid can you date when that Truper multitool was manufactured?

Good qusetion. I don't see any way to date this one.

I have a couple Bibury's. They are not bad at all!

I wonder if it'll break on the 1st time I put it under some presure. The rust all over the Truper without sign of hard use is an indicater of the metal composition & temper. Precision of the tool is what differentiate great from ok.

Love my Swiss Tool. I've done horrible things to it and it just keeps on working

What horrible things, I wonder?
@dualsportoutdoors3 күн бұрын
@arbiter1er I've batoned the main blade, cut wire that I probably shouldn't have, pried with the screwdrivers, used the chisel to scrape words into steel, used the pliers to break stuff, and used the tool's body as a hammer and an attitude adjuster. My Swiss Tool has taken a beating and it still works beautifully and still looks good

@@dualsportoutdoors Nice! I carry the Spirit myself so I am a bit more wary about using it as a beater haha. Good to see the bigger model can hold up to rough use

@arbiter1er I have one of those as well. It can take a thrashing, though admittedly I'm afraid to push it as hard as I push my Swiss Tool

I just purchased an MX Clip. I had the Spirit X years ago and regretted selling it. The MX Clip went on sale for $100. At that price I couldn't pass it up. These clone are really tempting! I have a few Learherman clones, while not as good as a real Leatherman, they are quite nice.

I already have a clone multitool for the Leatherman Surge; I want an original now either from Victorinox or Leatherman.

Hi HVAC!! Perfect timing!!

Ah but with the Victorinox you don’t need to adjust the pliers, they arrive perfect, it’s only Leatherman that makes the buyer have to adjust and break in the tool after you have bought it.

Not on their premium ones

That's a hilarious justification for owning a non-repairable tool. In 30 years I'll still be able to perfectly adjust the Leatherman for my personal tool pivot preference 🤪 Just like I still can with my 30 year old SOG Paratool that I've also taken apart to add tools to 👍

@ interestingly many people are still using victorinox multi tools that were made in their youth, there is a video of a man who still has and uses a Swisstool his father bought him as a child, eventually he bought a couple of Leatherman multitools, both are “rotted” wrecks after he used them for a few years, yet his childhood Swisstool is still looks good and is working perfectly.

@@sweetbaby_0608 ah but with Victorinox you get perfection with every tool regardless of price range it’s in.

The og swisstool is a tank that stands the test of time no problem. Amazing that victorinox designed a clip for it after over 20 years... a clip that fits in the cork screw hole:P
