The GRYPHON is WEIRD

The gryphon is an unorthodox chess piece. It moves diagonally one square and then may move in a 45 degree angle in the direction it moved diagonally.
My next video will probably be about the rose.

Thanks for making this video! about the value of the piece, it'd be more accurate to say that it's value is between the chancellor (Rook + Knight) and the queen (in 8*8 board) , but generally (in all square shaped boards) the gryphon is around 1 point weaker than the queen And to remove ambiguity about the diagonal move, the gryphon can do just the diagonal move, the sliding move is optional

Stronger than a rook and weaker than a queen? I think you might be underestimating this thing a bit. It has superior endgame mobility to a queen and it only really suffers severely in crowded positions where its initial Ferz move weakens its 8-directional attack.
